Lots of bike riders and traffic frequent this area.. strange because it happened in broad daylight between 10am-2:30pm. Always have secured my bike this way and have never had a problem in 2 1/2 years. No witnesses even though a high school is on this block and it is a school day. No trace.

Ok, Wasn't gonna bother with this, but now that I'm cruising craigslist every day, just noticed another Andersonville broken heart (so sorry, girl) I'll do my civic duty. Mine got angle-ground Friday morning (3/4) just south of Foster and Clark. Description I got was 5'8", khaki hoodie, mocha skin tone, battery-powered grinder. (Guy started, spooked, and came back, loud grinder, witnesses, etc. Receptionist watched the whole thing from less than 15 feet and "didn't realize what was happening." Told me about it 10 minutes after he rode away.) I rode home on Saturday night. I locked my bike where I normally lock it with a heavy duty bicycle security chain. While I laid eyes upon it at least three times on Sunday I didn't ride it. Monday afternoon I leave the house to find it missing. The bike has a ring lock going through the rear wheel so unless that is removed (not that easy of a task) the bike will remain immobilized.

Good condition. It has front and rear disc brakes. 3 gears on the front, 8 on the back. I added a rear rack that needed to be cut to fit around the rear disc brakes. There's a hole drilled in the bottom of the bottom bracket. It is in generally good shape. Believe it or not, there was a U-lock strapped to the rear rack, but my U-lock was rusted shut, so I was using a cable lock temporarily. That was a mistake.

The front rim is silver the back is black. The tires are brand new blue/black. I recently taped the handle bars with white cork tape. The back light is tied under the seat (this could be removed though). There is a Schwinn gear bag on the bike containing; spare tube, 2 Co2 cartridges, 2 tire keys, a patch kit & a yellow adapter for the Co2. While taping the bars pieces from the old end caps where left behind and rattle when riding over bumps.

The bike was in my garage and a family member left the garage door (facing alley) open from around 2:00 pm until discovered at around 4:00pm. The bike was visible and not chained. It more or less had a 'take me' sign on it. I know we are idiots. I knew the bike should not have been there in the first place. It is a small beautiful brand new red bike that anyone would be happy have. Including a metal collector for the contents of his truck. Nothing else was stolen-no skis, nothing.
