Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

I locked my bike next to two other bikes that were locked together in a ULOCK. I had my cable running through my front wheel, frame, and my boyfriend's frame. ((Admin note: Victim entered bike model name as " Ventrella " -- no evidence found that this is a valid Jamis model name.))

Bike was stolen in broad daylight while I was studying in the library, between the hours of 10 am and 1pm on Sept. 13th. Lock and bike helmet were missing as well.

The bicycle was in our detached garage. Someone must have gotten in through the door in the backyard. The garage door was closed.

I had locked the bike around 8.30am in the morning at chicago board of trade's bike rack on the vaburen entrance. Security guard say they have seen him on the camera. They say it was stolen around 10.30am but I could only realize it in the evening around 5.30pm. Please give us any information if you happen to see the bike. Thanks

Left overnight at the station.

The bike was stolen from the hallway of my apartment between 9pm on Tuesday, Sept. 14th and 7am on Wednesday the 15th. No forced entry was evident and my downstairs neighbor had their apartment broken into with no forced entry, so the theif likely had a key.

Bike stolen from bike rack. Probable that the lock was cut. [Ed. note-- spotted being rolled around s. side flea market on Sunday 9/19 but unable to reach owner and seller could not be found again.]

The bike was left for a few days. I had a flat tire and parked it front of Kozy's to come back and get it the next day and get the tire fixed. I was ill most of the week and returned to find the bike gone.

My biked was locked to bike rack on the South side of the Ravenswood Metra station, right on Leland Ave and Ravenswood. I locked my bike at 7:30 am and noticed it was stolen at 7:30 pm.

Went shopping and came out, bike and lock missing

Bike was locked outside of an El station, in a well lit, high-traffic area.

I arrived at Ashland and Foster at 6pm, cabled my front wheel & U-locked my back wheel and frame to the bike rack. When I got outside around 9:30pm it was gone, along with the lock and cable.

My son locked the bike up at a bike rack at the NE corner of Lake and Scoville 9 (Oak Park) between Pilgrim Church and OPRF High School at about 8:50. After school (3:00) it was missing and all the other bikes were still there. Apparently it was the nicest bike and this person defeated the lock and took it. He reported it to School security and they asked him to bring in more information about the bike today so they can a Police report . Will update with number of police report when I have it.

The bike was inside a secure area, and stolen with another bike. The other bike that belonged to my roommate has been returned all ready. Things that have changed since the photo: I cut the changed and cut the handlebars shorter, so they fit my hands only, not anything else. I still have the bars pictured at home. I painted the rims black, but the paint was chipping off of them. I added the green chain described above that locked the seat to the frame. The new seat post & clamp were glossy black, so those are similar, but not the ones in the photo. I also added the horn. There was a rear reflector, and a "Mayor Daley's Bike (Authority?) light" on the back. The tires were relatively new gator skin tires, and had been reinforced with some older bike tires, so that they were twice as thick. The Front tire tube is new, and the rear should have a few patches.

This bike had high pressure tires that got constant flats on the Chicago streets/potholes. Literally, the bike shop stopped charging me for labor and it had gotten it's 10th one in three months on my way to a very important meeting regarding an international festival I was assisting. I angrily locked it to the nearest sign and because of the incredibly busy weekend I had ahead of me, didn't have time to retrieve it until today when I found it was gone. I have no idea how it was taken or anything. It's just gone.

I left my brand new bike locked to the bike rack outside of the Lakeview YMCA for just over an hour. It was on the last bike rack to the left right behind the parking meter. I believe someone broke open my lock and stole my new bike with the lock in order to sell it because it's a very nice road bike that could get a lot of money.

The bike was in a parked car(minivan)in a residential parking spot off an alley (where the rear apartments are located). Literally, the car was not even 10 ft. from the door of a garden level apartment. A brick was thrown through the back window of my car and the bike was stolen. They did not forget to take my "gear bag." Well, if nothing else, they sure had nerve. This neighborhood has been VERY popular lately with car break-ins, as I have since been told. The parking spots were also heavily lit, and have motion sensors. Do not leave ANYTHING in ANY car in this neighborhood (even if you think it is hidden). Stolen bike outside an apartment in Old Town, it happened during the World Cup game, rained a bit, so either someone had an opportunity to cut through / pick my lock while I was inside, or I just didn't lock it correctly and someone rode away with a free bike. I just found this site and wanted to add my claim to the postings.

the bike was left locked in front of the house overnight, in the morning it was missing. this is my 2nd bike that was stolen in the last 4 days. First my "Sanwa" was stolen from this safe location (I always assumed, and had no problems in the past). So I bought this bike as a replacement and in 4 nights it was gone too. I know, stupid me for dismissing the first theft. this time I was using a cable with integrated key lock, not a cable combination lock like last time... picture is not of my actual bike, my bike looks same except it has more stickers on the frame and brake cables are black, not white.

Stolen while at zoo with wife and son. They left the child seat and my wife's bike. This happened during the middle of the day on a busy Sunday.
