Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Locked bike to fence, went in PJ Clark's for quick lunch. Bike stolen within 20 minutes right in front of high-traffic Embassy Suites valet entrace and busy sidewalk. Bike stolen on NE corner of intersection, police camera mounted on SE corner of interestion in plain view. Police would not review security tape.

I came back from wallgreens at around 10:30, Put my bike down in the storage area of our building. I woke up to go ride to wallgreens to pick some stuff up and noticed the door was unlocked. I went in to see my lock and my bike missing along with another bike.

Rode to work. There's a guard on the dock (supposedly) until 3PM.

Bike was locked to a railing on back stairwell of apartment building. Not in plain sight of alleyway, so I'm thinking it was someone who lives in my building/was visiting my building. Image provided is similar to my bike, but the colors are blue and aqua.

I locked this bike to a tree before going to bed. The tree had been sawn through and the bike was missing when I woke up the next morning.

Bike was stolen off second story porch between 12am-8am.

The bicycle a Jamie Commuter 1 had fixed wheel locks on both tires so its frame was U locked to a wrought iron fence in front of my personal residence at 849 W. Newport Ave. Chicago, IL 60657. It was last seen securely locked at the location described on Saturday, August 28 at 2:30 p.m. CT. When I came out of my residence on Sunday, August 29 at 11:00 a.m., the bike was no longer there and the wrought iron fence had been cut in two places so that the thief lifted the bike and ulock over the main pole, through the cuts in the wrought iron and took the property.

Thief jumped over our alley facing fence climbing on our garbage can and kicked the garage door open. We believe the thief has been casing the garages on our street.

We had left on the trail at aproximatly 5:48 pm to go to Ravinia Music Festival. The bike was interlock by the frame of two bikes as well as with with another lock, connected to the object,"bike post" winding through the front tires and front frames of two bikes. When we arrive back to the train station they where gone. The two bikes where efficiently locked up and secured to the designated Chicago bike parking area off of Ashland near the Clybourn Metra train stop under the bridge. The bike locks had been cut and removed. No bike locks where left behind. There where two other secured bikes next to where ours where parked that had not been stolen. Both bike where mountain bikes that where new. My bike was a 2007 womens blue/grey Trek front suspension Trek Mountain Bike and my friends was a mens,red and black oleder, Mens Trek Mountain Bike with a red back cargo basket. Please help us locate our stolen bikes. Thank You.

Locked my Novara Bike and my girlfriend's bike to bike rack on Ashland at Metra station before going to Ravinia music festival. Upon return at midnight, both bikes were gone with locks.

Bike was stolen from inside of my apartment building. I had the bike u-locked to a nine foot wooden ladder. When I left for work at 5:30am, the entire ladder was gone-along with my bike. I found the ladder at the end of my alley with the ladder sawed in half. Thief also took my Chuck Taylor sneakers as well.

My fenced in, locked parking lot was broken into overnight. My bike alone with at least one other was stolen by prying apart the wooden railing they were locked to. The last I saw it was around 5 pm when I got home from work. Found it was missing the next morning around 6:45 am when I was leaving for work.

I rode my bike to the Diversey Brown line station at 8AM locked my bike and took the train to work. I returned to the train station at 8:30 PM from work and found my bike missing. I think that the bike lock was either picked, or they had a clipper/saw that broke the skinny part of the bike body and then stole my bike. Other bikes were there that morning. The area is blocked so perhaps its an easy place to hide tools while trying to steal a bike.

Bike was locked outside, corner of XSport Fitness. Upon return, another bike was locked where mine used to be. Rider stated he had parked it one hour earlier, and noticed the cut lock, no bike. Based on the timeframe, the bike was stolen shortly after I locked it. Note, image is not of the original bike (handles are different). Bike is flipped to free wheel. Lots of sentimental value. I'm sure this will get sold immediately or fixed up to look different. Please help!

Bike was locked to rack under Metra overpass at Ravenswood station on Lawrence Ave. Bike was locked and last seen at around 8:45 am and discovered missing at 5:45 pm.

Bike was left unlocked in front of window at residence for 30 minutes, upon return bike was missing

Security video shows white male enter parking garage at 12:09 pm and begin to grind U-Lock. Sparks are visible on video footage. Suspect rides of on bicycle at 12:15 pm.

I came home late last night and secured my bike to the pole. I usually bring it indoors or into the basement but I locked it outdoors last night. When I went outside this morning to go to work the bike was gone and the lock was there, cut.

Bike was stolen from our locked indoor garage spot. Garage holds parking spots for a 15-unit condo. Bike was locked to itself with a U-lock. Bike was likely taken because it was brand new. Bike was taken with U-lock, basket, helmet, and bungee cords. Theft happened sometime between 9:15am and 3pm on Wednesday, August 25.

Image is stock, not of my bike. I was in the cafe for approx two hours. At 2:45 PM someone walked in and said they had just seen a bike stolen. He watched someone cut my lock with an angle grinder and take the lock/helmet. The person rode my bike up the street to the BP at California and Fullerton. The passerby followed the person to the BP where he saw him put the bike into the back of a baby blue toyota previa minivan (early 90s?) license plate H82 1472. He got a picture, which he gave to me, but the officer that took my police report wouldn't take the plate number because I didn't take the picture myself.
