Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Left 3 bikes locked together and to bike racks in front of the East side entrance to the Lincoln Park Zoo (bike racks accross the street - along the bike path). Arrived around 3:00PM and got back at 5:30PM. 2 bikes (both in decent shape - working * 1 Specialized mountain bike, female, small size and yellow frame, blue seat * 1 KHS montain bike/ commuter bike, male, white & black frame, brand new rear tire (had it changed on the shop along the Lakefront bike path 15 min before), rusted handle bars were still on the scene, lock cut. The 'nicer' bike which was stolen was 'piled' underneath the 2 other ones. Thanks in advance to anyone who could help me recover my bike!

I returned home at 10pm on August 22nd and by the following afternoon the bike was missing.

The incident was filmed by an adjacent business' security cameras, so I watched the footage and I know the lock was cut and the bike was taken in a matter of seconds. The employees at the business said they thought they recognized the man as a local junkie, so probably it is being traded for heroin or something.

Someone hopped the fence behind my apartment building, cut the cable, and took off with my bike, perhaps as early as the 19th or 20th, but probably on the night of the 22nd/23rd. If you see this bike or have any info, please get in touch with me!

My bike was parked in front of my apartment with two other (nicer) bikes. It was locked securely to the iron fence last night. This morning it was gone, with no sign of it and no lock. The other two bikes were left.

My wife and I locked our bikes to a street sign on Sunday, August 22nd. We used a kryptonite cable lock through our front tires, the frames, and the pole. We came back to the bikes an hour later and the lock was cut straight through the cable, and her bike was still there. Only my bike was stolen. I flagged down a police officer who put a flash out on the radio, and I have heard nothing yet. I am in the process of filing a police report.

bike is gone from a locked back yard. even if someone hops the fence, there is no way to get back out without hopping the fence again. They left my unlocked lock on a table near where the bike usually is.

At some point during the night, the perpetrators cut the lock and absconded with both mine and my wife's bicycles. They were chained to the fence on the parking lot next door to the long room bar.

My house was broken into while I was sleeping. My TV, Xbox and bike were stolen.

My husband and I locked our bikes together around a large tree across the street from Roy's Furniture (facing the store) using an OnGuard braided steel cable and our two U-Locks. However, both U-Locks were only connected to my husband's rear and front tires, not mine (bad mistake). Foot and car traffic is heavy in this area and we only planned to be inside an hour at most. The steel cable was cut through twice. They attempted to remove the front tire of my husband's bike but the locks prevented it. I'll be filing a police report today. Bike was locked with 2 U locks to the front tire, body, and rack, as well as the back tire to the body and rack.

Individual(s) came through or over locked fence. Bike was locked to the metal window bars on the deck of my third story walk up. Combination Cable lock was cut and left on the scene. So far no witnesses.

Bike was locked to a tree approx. 8-10 inches in diameter on N. Spaulding about 100 feet from Fullerton. It was locked there at about 7:30 pm and I saw it last at about 11:00 pm and when I came back out of my friends apartment at about 1:00 it was gone without any trace of my lock.

My bike was stolen in front of my office at 200 N LaSalle(at the corner of Lake & LaSalle) sometime between 9am - 12pm. The bike was stolen on Thursday 8/19/2010 during work hours likely right in front of many people since it was in a crowded area. The bike was less than 1 week old.

The thieves sawed through the Kryptonite Series 2 lock. They left the barrel end of the u lock. It has black heat marks, and saw tooth blade marks through it.

I stupidly had the bike locked up overnight to a tree using a heavy gauge metal chain & padlock. The tree's still there, but the bike & chain are gone.

Bike was locked with a u-lock to an iron fence in front of my apartment. The iron fence was sawed through so Kryptonite u-lock still may be in tact on the bike frame. Bike was taken from near the corner of broadway and briar in east lakeview betwen the hours of 8p-8am on 8/19 - 8/20.

Locked up the bike on a sign post outside my building at 11PM and the next morning it was gone. It's got curved front handles and a rack on the back. Otherwise, its practically new. Please contact me if you've seen it or have it - JUST WANT THE BIKE BACK! Thank you.

I left the bike unlocked in the alcove of Theatre Wit. It's a covered space and the doors to the building where I was are right inside there. I ran inside for a couple minutes to drop some things off and when I came back it was gone. This is such a great bike! I would love the help to find it. Thank you!

Bike was parked under the bridge at the Ravenswood Metra station. I try to park it toward the outside of the overpass area, where there is more foot traffic. U-lock (kryptonite) went through the front tire and around the frame (and attached to the bike rack); back tire was secured to the frame of the bike with a wire lock. Helmet was also attached to the lock. I have no idea when it was stolen; I parked it there in the morning on my way to work and it was gone when I returned at about 6:15 pm.
