Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

The bike was sitting in a friend's back yard as we prepared it for a BBQ. They went inside to shower and get ready, I was setting up the rooftop deck, and came back down to the yard half an hour later to find the gate open and the bike gone.

Recently moved. Two mountain bikes - one blue male, one green female were double cabled through the back porch railing. Bikes stolen, no cut lock found. Green bike has flowery details and a small black under the seat pouch. Blue bike has a bike lock holder under the seat.

Bike was locked to two large cinder-blocks under stairs at front of building behind an unlocked, inner glass door and a locked, outer glass door. I locked it up around 8:00 or 9:00 pm and in the morning discovered it missing. Called cops but no one ever showed.

The bike wasn't locked for long, less than two hours. I believe the thief cut the lock or chain, possibly others chained to the same metal fence, and may have driven away with it. There were many people around that may have witnessed the event- the AMC theater is close by and there's a ton of foot traffic in the area.

LEFT BIKE SOME POS TOOK IT

Bike was stolen sometime between 3pm-6pm at the Taste of Chicago on Friday July 3rd. The bike was locked up with another bike onto the bike rack at the NW corner of Columbus and Monroe. It was right in front of a security camera, so there is footage of the culprit stealing the bike. They cut the cable lock, stole the 7100 and did not take the other bike.

Bike was left hidden in bushes along a wooded ravine path to the shore of Lake Michigan. Several young people, aged ~16 - 25, were seen leaving the Lake front walking up the path, presumably to their parked car at the top of the ravine. Bike was not visible from nearest street. People that park near this path to the lake shore do not have a Lake Bluff village sticker and are trying to avoid paying to get down to the beach and parking illegally. Someone leaving the lake front probably picked the bike out of the bushes on their way up to their car and drove off with it.

I park my bike here often. Someone may have noticed it days earlier. Probably happened during 4th of July fireworks. Bummer :-(

Bike was locked with both a cable lock and U-lock to a bike rack. Locks were probably cut.

After coming home from a ride, I left my bike at the base of our rear apartment stairs. Previously, I had no issues with TEMPORARILY leaving my bike there for under 2-3 hours. The bike was not in street view at all. However, this time the bike was stolen from someone passing through our alleyway.

We viewed theif cut the cable lock, casually replace lock and cutters in backpack, and ride away. He was chased from Lakeshore Athletic Club into the Taste of Chicago and lost. His description: short, black, not fit or thin but roundish build.

I had already carried my bike up to my apartment twice yesterday, so I left it locked outside to a small tree outside my apartment while I met some friends. When we came back around Midnight, about 4 hours later, it was gone, but the combination lock was still there. I'd only had it about a week, it's a bright pink Magna mountain bike, and it might be a child's sized, I'm not sure. I have a picture, but it is only on my phone and I can't get it uploaded to my computer for some reason.

I left my bike for a moment to go pick up my husband; it was inside my yard while my son and his 3 friends played. The boys went right inside the door for a moment and heard something outside and saw them driving it down Devon. The driver could have been Asian.

Was jumped / beat up / bike stolen at around 3am by a group of guys.

Bike was stored in locked shed in backyard of private residence. Shed locked with standard combination lock.

Bike was removed from my basement. Though the door was not locked, the thief had to open two very noisy doors and walk through my yard and gangway to get it.

Bike is in good condition. Was stolen from 1801 Larchmont Ave under train tracks. It was locked up. They took the bike and left the front tire whcih was still locked up.

The incident had been captured on a security camera next to the building at 200 W Monroe. There was one individual on video. He was a white male of undetermined age, with light blond or white hair. He entered the video from the Monroe Street side, wearing a back pack. He appeared to have a clamp type cutting device. He arrived on site at approximately 6:57pm and was gone with the bike at 7:01pm.

Someone walked off with my bike, it was in the front yard, with a gate, and lots of eyes on the yard, including my dogs and it was locked to itself with a U-lock...naive of me.
