Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Lended my bike to a friend. He locked it in the bike rack of the Lincoln Park zoo.

I got home around 4pm on Tuesday, 11/15/2016. I left my bike out, unlocked, in front of the apartment building's 1525 W. Farwell Ave. entrance, located at the back right of the courtyard of the building. I left the bike next to the door, nestled in the tall bushes temporarily. It was supposed to be temporary because I was expecting to leave shortly after getting home, but after getting home, I realized I didn't actually have to leave. I forgot I left the bike out in front of the building's exit/entrance, and relaxed at home for the duration for the evening. The bike would be literally sitting below my apartment window, one floor down to the ground floor, next to the entrance. This morning, (11/16), I went to look for it, and it was gone. My partner got home around Tuesday night at 7pm, entering through the front of the building, and she did not notice any bike sitting next to the front door, leading me to believe that it was stolen after I got home and before she got home last night (4pm-7pm on 11/15). The only way anyone could see that far, at night, in the building's courtyard, is if a tenant was either coming or going from that particular entrance to the building. The front gate is frequently open which leads to the possibility of a stranger possibly entering the courtyard. The picture provided is not my bike, but is identical to model and color, minus my distinctive features.

Bike was locked to fence, on sidewalk at Lovely Cafe.

I left my bike on Sat, 11/12/16 at 10:30. I returned for it two days later, on Mon 11/14/16 at 7:15. It was not there. On the other side of the road there is a camera. Locked bike to bike rack in front of kentones on 18 late Monday night. Missing at 8 on Tuesday morning

We left our garage open for 20 minutes while we were in our house. Cme back out, bike was gone.

Bike was hanging in garage on the wall on a bike hook, bike stolen overnight.

Lock was cut, a chunk of it was at the scene but not the whole thing.

Locked my bike up on a rack on the northwest corner of Clark and Hubbard around 3:45pm November 12th. There were two other bikes locked to the racks. I work just around the corner and when I finished work around 3:30am November 13th and went to grab my bike, it was gone and so was my lock.

Brand new bike was locked to back porch wood railing and thief removed wood rail at unknown time in past 2 days. (Cable with integrated key lock.)

Went down to my car Saturday morning in my parking garage and bike was gone. Contractors had been working in the garage previous day.

Bike was stolen overnight or in the morning alongside an identical, but green bike. The blue bike had slight wear and usage unlike the green bike.

Bike was stolen alongside identical, but blue version of this bike. Both were unlocked among other unlocked bikes that had been in the storeroom for months. Stolen overnight.

I stopped to purchase a drink and use the restroom at Harvestime Foods, a grocery store located at the intersection of West Lawrence Avenue and North Talman Avenue on Chicago's north side. A Kryptonite u-lock was used to lock the front wheel and frame to a bike rack located on West Lawrence Avenue alongside this store. A heavy duty cable was run from the lock through the rear wheel and back to the lock. The bike was left unattended for about ten minutes. The the picture provided for this report was taken before the brook saddle and headlamp were installed. Any assistance with finding this would of course be greatly appreciated.

Tall white guy in MSU green jacket, white stripe on sleeves w/black knit cap took my bike from the bike racks on the 2nd floor of the Sherman Plaza parking structure. Cameras caught him walking from elevator through 2nd floor lobby to bike area, returning in 5 minutes with my bike, padlock and cable were either in his large dark backpack or in the saddle bag. He paused to pull his cap over his face on his way out. Security guy was really nice about searching data base. there's more film from 1st floor entrance, probably head-on shot. With any luck, police will get his face.

Bike was locked at around 8:30 am. At around 10 am I realized I did not have my keys, returned to rack to find bike missing. I assume I left the keys in the lock.

I went to work and locked it outside the library on the bike rack at 8:30pm. It was gone when I returned at midnight.

This bike and another locked together thru frames and one wheel each to bike rack on NW corner of E Chestnut St and N Mies Van Der Rohe Way near Hancock building/parking ramp at approximately 215pm. Returned approximately 45 minutes later to find bikes and lock gone.
