The bike was kept in the shed of our back yard in Lakeview. The day of the theft was the pride parade and there were several people in the neighborhood. While doing work in the shed, I went inside to take care of my children. I returned outside after approximately 30 minutes and the bike was missing from the shed.

It also had a wire chain from the lock through the front tire. They got me with the missing screw at the base trick. I'd been totally unaware. This is a totally unique bike... Bike was left in the common shared bike area in the building basement on the bike rack unlocked at 12:30am on 7/22. Building is secured and locked during the night. Returned to where the bike was left at 10:30am to discover it missing. No history of break-ins or theft in the building whatsoever. Hired contractors have been doing work on the building interior/exterior and have had access to the basement for the past 1-2 weeks, potentially leaving the basement unlocked/prone to theft.

I had a U-lock with a cable roped through the front and back tire. I must have locked the U-lock and the cable to the bike rack, but did not lock the actual bike frame to the rack. I left my bike approx. 6:45 am, and after return from work at 5:30p.m the bike was stolen.
