Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike was locked overnight (at midnight) to parking sign pole outside front door of 24-hour taqueria. Found missing around 11am. Lock also missing. Suspect that either U-lock was clipped or pole was unbolted and re-bolted.

I came home from work and locked my bike up to the metal fence in front of my building which is inside the parameter of the fence. I locked my U-Lock to the fence and fed a cable lock through the front wheel attached to my U-Lock. I came out the next morning and our front gait was open and the bike was gone. They had taken everything (bike, wheels, helmet, and locks). They had cut through the fence and must have lifted the bike out.

I am a bike messenger and I left my bike leaning against the fence while I was at the door dropping off an order at Belmont and Racine. I turned around for 1 minute and it was gone. I still had food in my bag to deliver but no way of doing it.

This bike and another, both of which had been leaning against a structural pole in the LOCKED basement of my apartment complex, were missing when I came down to check on a few things. The bikes may have been stolen up to 2 weeks before noticing them.

Someone broke into my garage and stole it.

I left my bike in my friends backyard to go get a pizza,When we went back,It was gone.

I locked the bike to the fence at 12am. By 8 am the u-lock was cut clean through and bike was gone.

My bicycle was stolen from my garage that I share with 2 neighbors. The frame and front wheel of the bicycle was locked with a U-lock to the frame of a standing steel shelf that I own. On Monday morning (~6:00am), my live-in girlfriend discovered that the bike was missing and the shelf had been cut into. I emailed my neighbors. One said she had been out of town for a few days. The other said he and his wife had been out of town since Saturday (June 28) morning and returned Sunday (June 29) evening to discover our garage door (the one the cars enter and exit) had been open and some of his property missing. We have other property in the garage of lesser worth that hadn't been touched.

Stolen while locked to bike rack in front (W) of Navy Pier. It's very dark at night - ideal for thieves. Bike was locked w/ 2 cable locks to rack w/ friends bike. When we returned both cable locks were cut, lying on ground.

The bike was on my third floor enclosed porch, hanging on the wall

My bike was stored in our locked bike storage room within the locked private garage to our building. There was no evidence that the lock was defeated, so the bike may have been carried out.

Bike was securely locked to street sign overnight, at 7am bike was noticed to be stolen. Lock had been sawed through.

Someone came into my garage (side door) and busted up all of the electrical piping (bike was locked to electrical and outlet in back of garage). (Cable with integrated key lock)

Locked my bike in front of the post office to the public bike rack before work. Came back and bike and lock were gone.

This bike was stolen from my garage last night.

My bike was in our garage, and on our way out of town, the garage door did not close all the way, apparently. A neighbor passed it later and said it only closed halfway. Nothing was taken from the garage except for my bike.

As we were moving into our new apartment, someone walked by out open garage, took the bike and left. Its the bike in the picture, only difference is the handlebars are straight across.

my bike was locked to a stop sign at Rockwell and Cermak. It was locked only with a cable to my girlfriends bike whose bike was locked with a u lock.
