Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike was locked to my porch, about 5 feet above the ground. Thief climbed onto the porch and dismantled my bike.

Garage was broken into and the bike which had been locked to another bike along with a bike rack by a chain and lock was cut free and stolen. There were several other bikes locked together in this garage and they were all stolen at the same time. It was locked in the garage for so long because I was being treated for cancer. My friend had locked it in her garage to protect it, she went out to get it today to give it back to me, only to find that it had been stolen. It was there this morning. Please help me find my bike.

The bike was stolen from the University of Chicago bike rack.

bike was in a residential/commerical building locked bike room, it was stolen out of the room,I put my bike in the locked bike room as I do every day at 9am, and when I returned to the room after work at 6pm my bike was gone. the only way to get into the bike room is with a key that you sign in and out with a front desk clerk. I am unsure how it was stolen but presumably someone familiar with the building's bike room got the key without signing it out or followed someone in and grabbed my bike.

Bike was in our yard between our coach house and main house—hidden from street view and someone snuck into the yard and stole the bike. They would have had to jump the fence to get in and out.

It appears someone climbed a large gate, breaking a metal spike in the process. There were several bikes in the back courtyard, however as this bike was the only one with full tires, it seems the perpetrator chose that one last. The other bikes where strewn in the court yard.

Bike was locked in a driveway next to a house locked to a fence, the fence was cut, not the lock.

My bike (and my landlord's bike) were stolen last night from a locked tool shed behind the house. Pretty ballsy move as the only access to that building is from our backyard and there's a motion sensor light trained on the shed's door. They even locked the doorknob lock when they left.

I had my bike in the back of my locked car (a 1997 Mercury Mountaineer). Someone forced the lock and took the bike.

Locked bike in front of apartment building around 7pm on 4 Sep 2013. Discovered bike was stolen 5 Sep 2013 around 7:45am. Pole was cut and bike removed. Other bike remained. Neighbor explained they saw the dismantled pole upon their return home on 4 Sep 2013 around 11:00 pm. Pole was a clean cut. Pics of crime incident taken.

Parked outside 645 N. Michigan building on (next to TGI Fridays) Northwestern Memorial Hospital campus around 7:50am and found missing around 6pm that day

I rode to a neighbor's house to pick up my daughter, who also rode a bike, and laid the bike down in the driveway near the garage door. The kids were outside playing and came in at 9:10 pm and the bike was there. We left at 9:15pm and the bike was gone. We drove the neighborhood and I searched the bike path near the home but couldn't find the bike. There were a few cars on the street with people sitting in them and they said the saw nobody riding a bike.

My bike was locked to a tree in the fenced in backyard of my apartment building. The bike was locked to a long limb on a tree, and the perp had to break off multiple smaller limbs to slide the bike lock (newer U-lock with flat key) up the longer limb to be able to obtain the bike.

My bicycle was locked inside the covered porch area of the coach house I live in, in the Pilsen area (ie, the bike was not locked, but the door was locked). It was there last night around midnight and missing when I left the house this morning at 6:30. I believe the door was locked when I left, but I was already panicking at the loss of my bicycle and might be remembering wrong.

My frame was either damaged and then taken or I slipped up and didn't lock my bike through both the frame and wheel like I thought I had.

Bike was locked at Harlem Blue line station bike rack with a cable lock at 7:30am. When I came back for the bike at 5pm, the entire bike was missing. Other bikes' parts seemed to have been stolen as well since several bikes near mine had missing frames and wheels.

Someone must have come into the locked storage room of the apartment building by sneaking in, or someone else leaving door ajar. Many other bikes are still safe and remain untouched in that same storage space.
