Thief used saw and screwdriver to break the lock

Bike was locked with a Kyptonite U lock to a bike rack at 400 S. LaSalle St (CBOE) just after 8:00am. I came out of the building at 9:45 and saw the bike missing. It was the only bike on the bike rack, so it was a lone wolf.

Bike was in locked bike area of my building. Bikes are hung from racks with attached chains. The chain on my space had a broken connection, so it was woven through the bike. My guess is someone saw the bike had a broken connector to the wall and simply took the bike.

someone was let into the building, or someone in the building cut the linked fenced it was locked to inside of our bike room.

Bike was cable locked to tree in front of apt building, other bikes park nearby, and owner had parked there for 2 months and haven't found out if others taken last night. Kryptonite u-lock thru back rim and frame. Locked after Critical Mass around 10 and was gone at 10 the next morning. Hi-traffic area. Scumbags. Locked the bike to street sign in front of house after returning from work at 3am. Discovered bike was stolen at 12noon.

always left bike unlocked in secured back yard with 8' fence. between the hours of 1am and 9am monday morning, someone jumped the fence, bike in hand.

Bike was locked to "No Parking" sign outside of The Briar on the corner of Cambridge and Briar Pl at 12 AM. Locked through front wheel and frame to sign. When I returned to retrieve bike, the pole had been removed from the ground and bike was missing.

Due to the Blackhawks parade downtown, I was unexpectedly not allowed to take my bike on the metra. I had to lock it to the bike rack outside of the Ravenswood Metra stop very quickly in order to catch the train. I put the U-lock through the front wheel, part of the frame and bike rack, with a cable going through the back wheel and connecting to the front. I thought I had done it in a way that would be very secure, as I was quite concerned leaving it out. There were many bikes locked up there, so I thought that was encouraging. I left it there at 8:15 AM this morning. I returned at about 5:20 this afternoon, to find the U-lock still through the bike rack And connected to the front wheel, which was all there was left. The cable that had gone through the back wheel had been cut. I guess they must have disconnected the front wheel from the rest of the frame and taken off. I thought I had locked it in a way that would've prevented this, but I guess not… Pretty upset.

My bike was stolen Sunday from North Ave. Beach. It was a very crowded day there and my bike was locked up in a crowded area with a Kryptonite Series 2 lock. Not sure how the thief stole it with so many people around. Anyway, it's a black Felt Brougham. There are no decals on it. Its all black except for the front plate of the stem which is cyan. The front wheel is also painted matching cyan. The rear wheel is black with white spokes and a thickslick tire. The pedals are white and they have red Burro straps on them. It has a black Turbo saddle.

Stolen from private garage

I walked into the Wiener Circle in Lincoln Park, it was 20 feet away and I could see it from where I was in the restaurant. After I ordered, I went back outside and it was gone.

After biking to work at the bakery this morning I locked the bike up tight. When I checked the bike half way through my shift and the bike was gone without a trace.

Left bike there to eat at Giordano's. On the corner of Michigan Ave. and Lake St. in front of CVS Pharmacy

Ed note- victim left bike unlocked while running into convenience store. Had little memory of incident or other details of that evening.

Not much to it. It was taken between 2:00am and 7:00 am on June 27th. When I go to my girlfriend's house I stupidly place my bike under the stairs in front of her garden unit apt, unlocked. It's mostly blocked from the view of passersby, but not entirely. It was only a matter of time. I was careless, I know, and it's definitely a learning experience.

Bike was in garage. Thief removed window screen and forced window open. Grabbed bike (no other items stolen) and exited through door.

My bike was locked to tree in front of Hair cuttery in Greektown for approx 30 minutes. I was getting my haircut when the lady said someone was stealing my bike as she had saw me pull up infront of the store on it. I looked outside as he was putting his lock cutter in backpack and taking off on my bike. I ran out of store with haircut cape still on and was very close to getting him, hes lucky for now.
