Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Entered my condo's locked bike room. Only individuals who live in this building have a key. Several other bikes were missing. The bike was locked by the front wheel and frame. The cable/lock was left in the room. Several of the other stolen bikes had their front wheels left in the room locked to the bike rack.

Incident happened on Lehmann st just south of Diversey Pkwy (pretty close to the Clark/Diversey/Broadway intersection). I was babysitting and had just gone outside and the bike was fine, walked down the street to the corner when these two guys ran around. They were kind of loud and yelling, and I was immediately suspicious. I'm pretty protective over my new bike (I LOVED it) and so I kept an eye on them until they went down another street... One was black and on a bike, and the one behind him was a white guy. I noticed them checking out bikes a little, so thats why I was suspicious. Anyways, when they were gone I rounded the corner and went to grab a coffee and came back maybe 20 minutes later and it was gone. So I am pretty sure it was those guys who took it. SO wish I stayed longer or said something or anything, really!

The bike was located at the new bike racks of the Clybourn Metra stop. It looks like they used very large bolt cutters to cut the U lock.

Bike was stolen across from the French Market on Clinton Street between Lake Ave. and Randolph St. at Ogilvie between 4:30pm 11/5/2012 and 10:30am 11/6/2012. Multiple cable locks were used, securing front and rear wheel through the frame and saddle to a bike rack on sidewalk.

I am not sure what time the bike was stolen. Took place over night most likely.

Bike was locked to a series of bicycles locked to a stop sign in front of MSA Circus Arts at the north west corner of Cambell and Homer. Was inside for a workshop. When the workshop was over, both wheels where stolen off of the bike as well as the rear wheel of the bike that it was locked to, not the wheels of any of the other bikes dispite their comparable value, similar locking methods, or assessiblity.

Bike was locked with a U-lock through frame and through a thick Master cable that was hanging from an overhead joist of the garage. Burglar pushed out garage window, climbed in, and opened main garage door. Burglar cut the cable (with boltcutter?), and took away the bicycle with the U-lock still locked to the frame. Surmise that Burglar had seen bike and hanging cable on earlier occasion. (Two pairs of ancient cross-counry skis also stolen.)

I left my bike locked to a small tree in my apartment courtyard overnight and discovered it missing the next morning. I believe someone broke or removed my lock and took my bike.

Damage was done to the bike rack that where my bike was attached to. No lock was found on site.

I was visiting a friend. I locked my bike to a street light pole and when I came out 30 minutes later the bike and the lock were gone.

I took out the trash from my work and the bike was still there at that moment in time. Then less then thirty minutes later when i got off of work and i walked outside the cable lock was cut and lying on the floor.

Bike was locked on bike rack at 1331 N. Milwaukee. Both cable locks were cut. Could have happened anytime between 10am and 6pm

Bike was unlocked in a locked garage when it was stolen. No sign of forced entry. Garage door has on occasion opened without us using a garage opener so we suspect that someone gained entry through the garage door.

The bike was locked to a large metal pole in the basement storage room. The lock was cut and left frayed and in pieces at the scene.

Unknown as to how the lock was defeated as the thieves took the lock too.

I forgot my U Lock commuting to work. I locked it with a padlock and cable while I searched for my building's service elevator. In that <5 minutes span of time, the bike was stolen.

Bike was locked to a street sign outside of Joes Bar on Weed St, overnight on Sunday, 10/28. Bike was stolen when I went to get it on Monday, someone unscrewed the bottom of the street sign and took the sign out of the ground to get the bike.

Came home to find garage door opened. No sign of forced entry. Bike above as well as one child's bike was taken
