Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

I had it locked sturdily while I was at my girlfriends house over night. heard a lot of traffic overnight, maybe victim of a particular bike theft ring in logan square.

Headset stem and handlebars were removed after pinch bolts taken out.

Bike was locked with a U lock to fence at the NE corner of Weisman Park at Mildred and Oakdale Ave's, a highly trafficked park with lots of families and children. My bike was secure and undisturbed when I left my apartment at 9:40am and returned at 10:00am to walk my dog. At 10:30am I exited my apartment to ride to work and the U part of the lock was laying on the ground inside the park fence and my bike was gone.

Locked bike somewhere in Ukrainian Village. Was unable to locate the next day.

This is one of three bikes stored in the same locked gangway, all of which were stolen. There are two large locked gates, which were locked at the time the bikes were discovered.

My yellow Cannondale with Co-Pilot child seat was cable locked to a tree in front of my business. I left work at 8:45 PM and noticed my bike was gone. The childs seat may be removed.

There were three bikes locked in a gated gangway which were still locked when the bike was discovered missing. The gates were still locked at the time the bikes were discovered missing. Our best guess is that someone broke in through our neighbor's yard and tossed them over a shorter fence.

Someone ditched two fixies behind my house. One is a schwinn the other is a centurion. Yours?

Bike was in my closed garage. Came home and the garage door was open, bike was missing with lock.

Bike was hanging from wall in garage. My wife left at 10:15 and forgot to close the garage door, when I went out around 11:30 to close it it was gone. Most likely scrap metal trucks cruising by went in garage and took the bike.

At Riot Fest. Had to leave bike over-night on racks Day #1 (lost key; since recovered), and wasn't there at end of Day #2. But at least I saw "I wanna be a dog" by Iggy Pop. Decent trade. (Not really, but still...)

Bike was discovered missing upon return home to the garage. Bike and lock were missing. Exact time is unknown due to being out of town for the weekend.

The bike was locked with a Trek U-Lock and cable to a wooden post in my back yard. I found the cable cut and the lock left in the back yard. I last rode the bike the morning of Sept 12 and found it missing the morning of Sept 14. It was stolen at the same time as my boyfriend's black Trek (separate report filed).

The bike was in a locked basement, but not locked to anything. The basement door may or may not have been open, there was no sign of forced entry. Bike was stolen along with a silver Gary Fisher (separate report listed).

I locked my bicycle on 1765 N Elston ( northbound side of the road) at 1:15pm. After the H/O block party the bike wasn't there.... Chained it to the metal rail which separates the sidewalk from the road (the sidewalk is 2.5 feet elevated wrt to the road at that point). Arbus Granit lock (with flat key, but still a relatively old model) locks wheel and frame. Kryptonite cable used to lock the front wheel. 2nd (thinner) kryptonite cable used to make 2nd loop through front wheel and frame (really the purpose of that was to lock the helmet). I looked for eventual pieces of the lock / chain(s), and couldn't find any. The photo below shows the bike as it was locked before being stolen.

We were at the Chipotle Cultivate festival in Lincoln Park and locked my bike and my gf's bike together to a fence beside some of the staff trailers at the event. There was some sort of protest going on near by. Some of the staff would later say they saw a bunch of kids milling around there. We locked up both bikes and when we returned my lock had been cut. They left my gf's much more valuable bike laying on the ground and took my cheaper one instead.

Locked outside of the Lincoln Park Zoo (south entrance near the Nature Boardwalk. Went into the zoo from 12 pm until 5 pm. Returned to see bike was missing.
