Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike was ridden daily to work and locked (Knog U-lock) to a secure metal fence outside of business. After teaching a full day of classes, I walked out to a missing bike. End of sad story.

Left bike outside house for one day, went to move it after work and it was gone. Neighbors have reported suspicious behavior around bikes in the past and even confronted individuals. Taken while at work

There were about three other bikes all well locked up directly in front of Lincoln Park Plaza... one of the busiest streets in Chicago. Clark and Diversey. It was locked up with a Brand new, heavy Duty U-Lock and Cable to the Bike Rack. It happened at night because I accidently left it out but from what I've been told is that these are heavy duty Bolt cutters. It was Saturday or sunday morning of 4/22. Thanks for any help. I am a complete idiot and U-locked only the front wheel to a bike rack. I thought it would be safe for a little bit because it was right in front of the shop. Alas, I was mistaken.

I left it locked up for an hour and a half, came back and the bike was gone with the lock.

Stoel this bike and my wife's trek from our back porch during the night of April 18th. On Elm Street just south of Division and Halsted. If see with a yellow and black treck 3500, that's my wife's bike. Much more common and lower quality bike though.

My bike along with several other bikes (5-6) were stolen from my apartment's locked bike storage room. I suspect that a tenant moving out, or some movers with a truck stole the bikes.

Bike was left locked to a bike rack with many other bikes. The rack is right outside Mertz Hall on the Lakeshore Campus of Loyola University Chicago. While I was at work that evening, someone probably cut the combination cord lock and took the bike. The coloring and shape draws the eye and the bike is less than a year old and very clean.

Someone walked up and stole it.

Bike was removed from the deck railing to which it was locked, inside a locked courtyard under camera surveillance.

Lock was either cut with bolt cutters or picked. Lock and bike were gone when i got back to it.

Bike was taken from the #9 ashland bus, going northbound between Grand an Armitage ave. Bike was taken OFF the bus while I was still on the bus. I did not see the person who took the bike.

I came home in the morning and was in the garage along with my neighbor who I share the garage with. He was going to leave so I didn't wait for him to close the door, I thought he was going to do it. Later I found out he didn't close it and the garage door had been left open from about 8:30 a.m. to 9:20 a.m. I came home in the evening and noticed my bike was not in the garage. Later I asked my neighbor if he left the door open.

I assume that someone came up to my bike, cut the cable and then left.

Was locked to railing inside locked back area of apartment.

Stolen Bicycle locked to wooden fence in a side passage locked at both ends. They kicked the wooden fence apart to remove the bicycle, with the lock still on the bicycle.

Bike was locked up in front of UIC's architecture building at 5pm. When I returned at 10pm it was gone.

The bicycle thief broke the kryptonite lock (newer u-lock w/flat key) and the iron fence the bike was attached to, in addition to cutting the fence with a hacksaw (although he didn't cut all the way through). The bike was also on the inside of the fence, so the thief must of had to either lift the bike over the 5.5 foot fence, or walk it out of the enclosed fence. The bike was stolen in front of my 2 flat apartment on Friday the 13th, sometime in the evening.
