I had it locked to a parking sign. When I returned, the bike was gone, but the Kryptonite U lock was relocked to the pole. The thief would have to have had a device to open, take the bike and then re-lock the lock to the pole as the lock can only be locked using the key. It happened on Lake Shore Drive on a Saturday with good weather. Many people were walking around so to take the bike they would have had to unlock it and look like it was theirs. If they had cut the lock, people would have noticed.

My beloved bike had a bell on it that said, "I Heart My Bike." There was a front light and a back light. There were nice (read: expensive) Gator tires on the front and back. The frame was pretty beat up because I've ridden the bike for 7 years. There was a new brake/gear system on the bike and the chain was really greasy and not in fabulous shape.

They took my beloved bike. I love that bike. They cut my white helmet off the U-lock with a knife through the chin strap, too. They left the lock, I don't know why. I wish I had a picture of it, but I don't. I'm filing the police report today. I just don't know how it happened -- that is such a heavy traffic area. I park my bike there a lot and maybe they knew I'd be gone for sure for a couple hours in the yoga studio upstairs from the LensCrafters... I want to hit someone. Thanks for your help.

I left my bike in the foyer of my sister's apartment building at 1628 N. Humboldt Blvd (Sacramento), north of North Ave. The front door automatically locks when closed, so the theft probably occurred from inside the building. The bike was in the foyer from about 7:30, and was gone by 8pm.

This bike is a few years old. Bought used. It has thick smooth black tires and some minor scratches on the metal frame but it's in great condition for riding. Multiple gears on the handlebars (clicking style). Black handlebars. It has a wide cushioned black seat that the previous owner used staples to keep together on one side of it from wear, but that doesn't get in the way of riding. This seat will really tell you that it was my bike. When it was stolen I also had a small black storage packet under the seat that you can zip up. I left a restaurant business card in there if the thief didn't remove it.

The bike was stolen sometime between Nov. 1 - Nov. 12. It was in a secured building under the stairwell. It may have been stolen by a resident or visitor or other outsider. They would have to go through the security code of the garage, and locked door to the stairwell. It was stored with two other bikes which were also stolen (a green KHS commuter bike and purple girls bike). The helmets and u-locks were left behind.

There was another bike locked to the same pole when I locked mine up. This morning that bike was still there (it wasn't a bike worth stealing) with the lock on the bike, but the lock was no longer on the pole.
