Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike was laid down in the back of our mini-van, car was parked out front of our apartment on W Superior St just west of Ashland. Car was parked at midnight (thursday night/friday morning) locked. Upon returning to the car at noon on friday, Nov 9th, the small rear window had been broken, and the bike was gone. There is an office building across the street that attracts lots of employees/people looking for parking/traffic starting at ~8am - I assume the incident occurred in the very early morning hours (1am-7am) - I'm including a stock photo of the exact model/colors.

UIC campus are between SEL buildings near Taylor and Halsted

Garage door was either accidentally left open or they hopped the fence to get into my garage and pop the lock on the garage side door

Bike was stolen from in front of 231 S Lasalle Bike rack on 11/1/2018.

Our apartment was broken into. Our bikes were stolen from inside the apartment, locks and all. Jamis Satellite and a red and black paramount.

Bike stolen from common area in condo building. Was one of 10 bikes stolen over the weekend of 9/26/18. Thieves gained entry by prying open front door. Common storage area was not locked.

The wooden fence that the bike was locked to appeared to be taken apart with a drill. They took the lock with the bike. I don't know the exact time of theft, but found it the night of October 30th after work. The fence is part of our back porch so the theif came up onto it to take it apart.

Left outside of UIC's Ear and Eye Infirmary in front locked to a pole. While finishing up an appointment the bike was gone and the U-Lock was cut and left at the scene. 1855 W Taylor St, Chicago, IL 60612

I locked up my bike to the pole. I went to the mall and after I leave the mall, I see my lock on the floor and my bike is gone. Picture is with the bike but I took out the brakes

I had left my bike unlocked in the back of my building. In retrospect I clearly shouldn't have, but the building wasn't visible at all from the street, was very quiet, and was also behind a locked fence (although it wasn't hard for someone to jump a much shorter fence to get to the bike, which is probably what happened.) Someone would have had to have already known that a bike was left there unlocked for them to get it. My theory is that a high schooler took the bike -- another bike, a much smaller Trek, was left behind, with the name Leo Higgins engraved onto it. Pretty crushed about losing this bike, I've had it for more than four years and have ridden it everywhere.

Bike was unlocked in garage off of residential alley, and garage was left open.

The bike was being stored in my building's semi-secure bike room. The bike room itself had no lock but you needed access to the building to get to the bike room. My roommate borrowed my bike and didn't lock it upon returning it because she doesn't lock up her bike. My bike and I suspect others from the bike room were stolen.

Was locked to a tree at my place of work, Floriole Bakery at 1220 W Webster Ave in Lincoln Park. I locked it up at 10:30 am. When I returned at 6 pm, it was gone along with the lock. The bike was under video surveillance and I will soon have video of the event.
