Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Locked outside an ALDI to the bike racks for 20 minutes. Potential security camera footage which police are investigating. Many people around, but no one had any information regarding the event.

The bike was in a storage room in the basement of condo building. It was the only bike stolen from the room. I had seen the bike Sunday night (10/2) at about 8:30 pm but did not go into the room until today (10/8) at 2:15 pm This picture is not my bike but identical to it.

I can only guess that I failed to lock the bike to the rack and instead only put the lock through the frame and front wheel (I've caught myself doing this once or twice). TiGr titanium lock, so hard to defeat in the time that the bike was unattended

My bike was locked to the street sign with a U-lock to the pole, and a cable lock connecting the front wheel, frame, and pole. I was locked next to a red bike that is also missing. This was directly outside my residential building. I checked on it on Thursday 10/06/2016 in the afternoon. This morning (10/08/2016) at 10 am, the bike (the the two locks) were missing

Locked bike frame using Kryptonite U-lock to friend's bike (rack was too crowded) at appx 8 p.m. Was in a bar at a window seat appx 100 feet away from where bike was locked up. When I left at 10 p.m. bike was gone but lock was intact and still attached to friend's bike. Lock did not appear forced so maybe skeleton key or picked, but it had been locked back up.

Went into Wicker Park Fitness (WAC) on W Division St and parked bike out front at 11:45 a.m. Locked bike up around the black U-shaped bike racks out front. Bike was locked through the back wheel, frame and then around pole with combination cable lock. Class lasted for 1 hour. Came out at 1:00 p.m. and bike was completely gone (no remains). Talked with WAC employers who said they have cameras out front to help with the police report. Currently

The date is when I noticed the bike was missing. Had been maybe a week since I had last checked it. It was around the back of my apartment building under our back porch by our laundry room door. The bike had a u-lock that was around the frame and the back tire. that u-lock was through a looped woven steel cable that was then wrapped around an area of the basement foundation. Someone had cut the woven steel cable and lifted the bike out of the area (most likely to take it somewhere to cut the other lock off). It is a sunken back porch area, someone had to bring cable cutters. Very intentional.

Fence by alley was scaled, cable was cut and bike was removed with U-lock connecting front wheel to frame.

The bike was locked inside a vehicle. The window of the vehicle was smashed and the bike was taken.

bike wheel was locked there was no quick release someone must have had tools. Front wheel is still locked to the gate.

Bike was located in our shared garage, not locked to anything; duplex neighbors left garage door open when they left for work and bike wasn't there when I returned. Happened sometime between 9am - 6pm.

I left the building at 10:00AM on Thursday, September 8, 2016 with my bike in the lobby of my building (unlocked), when I returned at 6:00pm that same day, the bike was gone. After looking all over the premises for my bike and contacting my property manager, it was no where to be found. Property Manager may have evidence on surveillance video. I chained my bike to a tree that is east of the train station next to the tracks.

Bought the U lock in June, it came with a metal-fibre cord/chain. Bike was on back porch, U-lock between front wheel and frame, chain went around railing of porch back to the U-lock. No evidence left, just missing bike and lock.

I rode my bike to work. There is a bike rack next to the public garage at Mount Sinai Hospital. I locked my bike to the bike rack with a U lock - the bike was in a vertical position. After work I came out and didn't see my bike. The bike rack was cut. The thief stole the bike and the U lock. There was another bike that had its chain (it had a U lock and the wire chain) cut but the thief didn't steal it because the U lock was locked to a thicker part of the bike rack.

I rode my bike around the city October 2nd, locked it in the FENCED IN backyard along with my roommates bicycle. Today when I went to get it to ride to work it was gone. My roommates bike was also stolen. This is the THIRD bicycle to be stolen from our property in less than one week.

Garage door found open at 5:30 p.m. Likely inadvertently left open at 2:45 p.m. Two bike stolen.
