Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

It seems that they lifted the bike over the street sign and took both the lock and bike.

Went in to City Lit bookstore, came out with no bike. Broad daylight, he cut my lock and stole my bike in front of everyone around.

Bike was stolen from my 2nd story porch in Bucktown.

Just noticed my bike was missing, but my lock was on the floor, unharmed. It was locked to a heavy wooden railing on the third floor porch, inside a gated back parking lot. My roommates bike was also stolen, they broke the wooden railing to get it.

Garage was broken into between 6:30 AM and 7 PM. Two bikes were removed from the wall. The picture below is not my bike but it's the same frame and rims.

The bike was locked to a street sign with a U-Lock going through the frame and rear wheel. I also had a steel cable wrapped around the front wheel and locked in the U-Lock. I walked by my bike with a dog that I was walking and went inside for 5 minutes. When I came out the U-Lock had been cut and the bike missing.

I was riding east on Augusta Blvd when something fell off the front of my rack. I stopped to go pick the item from the street, putting the bike on the sidewalk corner. I walked about 18 ft into the street and when I turned around to get my bike, it was gone! I searched around the nearby street and allays for the theft, but did not find him. There was a black male (wearing blue jeans and a blue hoodie), who I remember standing there at the time and was gone after the bike disappeared.

I road my bike to the gym to work out. I parked my bike and locked it at the same bike lock dock area I always did. I locked my bike with a word U lock. The lock was just below the handle bars and connected to the bike rack. Upon returning to the bike rack my bike was missing, but my lock was on the ground still locked to the rack. I feel like the person had to unhook/unscrew my handle bars to take the bike. Why else would the lock still be locked to the dock and on the ground. Prior to going into the gym I checked to make sure my word was not still in my lock and that it was secure

Arrived at the Belmont station from the loop to discover that my bike was stolen from the CTA Belmont station bike rack that is beside the alley entrance to W. Belmont Avenue. I locked the frame and the front tire to the bike rack at 10am that morning to head downtown, and I returned to find the lock and the bike gone.

I locked my bike up on Randolph, just east of Beaudien, across the street from Jay Pritzker Pavilion. I went to Mariano's and then to a meeting. I walked past my bike at 6:35pm, so it had to have been between then and 7:55pm when I returned. I also had my helmet locked up with it.

Had biked locked inside of my hatchback. Large rock was used to break window and then removed bike from car through the window.

Bike was locked. The thief just got away with the front wheel.

It's quite possible that we left our big garage door open — the pedestrian door opens into our high-fenced yard. Unless someone scaled our fence. So we are partially to blame for leaving the door open, but it's still illegal to steal. I've had that bike since I was 16 and it has a lot of sentimental value. Our neighbor did see a "suspicious man" riding a bike in our alley when he took out the trash, but didn't have a description.

I walked outside to take the trash out. I then noticed that my bicycle was missing from the back porch.

I came home from the library late last night, and left my bike outside in front of my apartment intending to come right back out to run an errand. I got in and realized I didn't actually have to run out again, so went to bed, forgetting that my bike was left out. In the morning, it was nowhere to be found. I have searched all over campus for it, and no luck has been had. This bike means the world to me, and I have traveled the country with it. If anyone sees it, please please reach out to me. Bike was stolen off back porch quickly

We left at 7:20 to drop my daughter off at school at when we came back it was gone.

Locked to a tree along with other bikes.

Bike was stolen the night of Sept 14, morning of Sept 15. Street sign was uprooted, bike and lock were gone.
