Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Left bike locked to railing in front of my sisters house, when I cam back out my bike and the lock were both gone, and the railing had been cut through

Bike was left on the side of a residential building (unlocked). Bike was taken from this location.

The bike was secured with a cable, link chain and a padlock. It was attached to the fence in the playground at my work, which is an elementary school. Upon dismissal of the students I noticed that the bike was not where I had left it and then noticed the cable on the ground and it had been cut. The rest of the lock and link chain were not there.

I locked my bike to a bike rack, using a cable w/a padlock, in front of the entrance of my apartment just above JT's restaurant in Evanston, IL around 8pm the night of June 9th. Later that night around midnight, a fire alarm went off in my apartment building and when I waited outside with other residents, I saw that my bike was still locked there (as I pointed it out to my roommate who had not yet seen my new bike). The next morning, the bike and lock were both missing.

The bike was locked behing the UIC Medical Hospital on a bike rack. I was locked with a chain with a greeen covering. I left it there 9/23. When I went back to check on it, 9/25, it had been stolen.

I work at the 600 W. Chicago building location and road my bike back from lunch. Locked it up with my u-lock mini as usual. That was at 130pm CST. When I went to retrieve my bike at around 430pm CST it was gone. No signs of the lock or bike.

The Cable that was put through the frame multiple times then around the bike rack was cut and the bike was taken.

The bike was locked to a solid bike rack in front of 1960 Lincoln Park West. There were 4 bikes on the rack and none of them were touched, which leads me to believe that the lock was destroyed to get the bike.

Garage was not working and did not close bikes were stolen directly out of the garage (first garage in the alley).

Garage door was broken and did not close properly - 1st garage in corner of the alley. Someone came in and just took 3 bikes out.

Someone took it from my hallway. My mountain bike was taken three years ago and found for sale at a flea market thanks to this site. I m guessing this will be at one as well.

I went into the Den Theater in Wicker Park to see a show. Afterwards, I went to have a drink with friends, planning on receiving my bike and going home once we had a drink. When I returned to the theater, my bike and U-lock were missing. I didn't look for the bike when I left the theater, assuming it was there. I'm not sure if it went missing while I was in the theater or in the bar. There was no sign of the bike or lock. I had locked the bike to a pole, as there were no available bike racks to lock it to. I have a feeling that after the play, when the area was less crowded, that a thief sawed through the U-lock, and left with the bike and lock. The bike was in great condition, and had brown leather seats and grips, making it a bit of a target. Lesson learned.

At least two bikes were stolen from the storage area of the basement in our condo unit located on the 3800 block of Sheffield Ave. We have a video of two men going in the entrance in the back of our basement around 4:00 am on Sept 21st and coming out with the above listed bike.

The bike was gone along with the lock.

Thief disassembled street sign to bypass the U-lock. The U-lock was a combination U-lock by Kryptonite (however, the combination was set to the correct combination, but it appears that the thief did not realize this as the lock looks locked regardless of combination). In the end though, it appears the method of theft was dis-assembly of the street sign.

Bike was locked up to a street sign at 5:15pm Sep 16 2014, next to the valet service of Soho House Chicago at 113 N Green St, in Fulton Market. The bike was caught on security camera being stolen Sep 17 2014 at 5:42am. The thief is a bald African American male that took the bicycle and left his in its place. His bicycle did not have brakes and was basically not useable.

Jefferson & randolph. was there at lunch, not there at 4. Parking lot attendant next door saw some sketchy looking dudes skulking around at some point.
