Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Exact date and time of theft are unknown. Locked bike in garage Sunday (1/26) morning after work and noticed it was gone on Thurday (1/30). Someone else had to have left the door unlocked at some point.

Bike cage at building was broken into with violence, bike lock was broken with violence, bike stolen and have thief caught on video. Thief is held at jail.

Bike was secured with a cable lock. The cable was secured through the front wheel and top frame bar and then locked around a 8 inch round drain pipe. With 240 some odd units in bldg. about every other person has one if not two bikes locked in the same garage. Most likely, an inside job. Some thief probably wanted it for their kid or to sell for drug money. Person who parks in the space next to mine has two brand new bikes secured the same way. So it is a case of a thief's choice of what he or she prefers.

I just bought a garage door opener keychain remote, and apparently they are very easy to accidentally activate in your pocket, and have a super good range, so my garage door stayed open all night the other day. I woke up to find my bike gone. Please help if you see it! This really sucks, it was my prime mode of transportation and cost me $450. Thanks everyone.

The bike was stolen out of my garage at some point in the last couple days. It's not the exact bike in the picture but same model and color.

I work at the Old Town School on Lincoln Ave, and left my bike to dry inside in an open storage area. I went on break and it was taken and then lead through the back of the building

I am not certain when the bike was stolen but sometime within the last few weeks. It was in a locked garage so I am not certain how the thief entered.

Someone walked in through an open Garage door and stole it.

My bike was taken out of my personal garage. The front tire was not on the bike, and was also taken. My bike shoes were still attached to the peddles, also obviously taken.

The male thief took the bike from our son outside an opened retail establishment: Target. The bike was last seen outside of the Target in Uptown on the north side of the building. It was stolen at 5:51 p.m. on 1/16/2014 (recorded here as 6:00 pm, your system will not allow the actual time). The thief watched him go into Target then took the bike. Together with Target’s Assets Protection Specialist, we have seen the man on tape in camera footage captured by the outdoor Target cameras. The video is preserved for the detective to follow-up with Target and retrieve the recording. The thief was wearing a black North Face-like jacket and wearing a black skull cap. The bike had a white helmet attached to it. It was also stolen. We are not sure of the brand; however, it's believed to be: Airius. There are two, orange, highly visible reflectors on the front accenting each side of the head.

Still there as roomate came home at 3 in the morning and i returned at 8 the next morning to find it stolen

Bike was locked to bike rack at Rogers Park Metra Station on Greenleaf at 5:45PM and was missing at 11:00PM

Not sure when exactly the bike was stolen. Has been locked to the bike rack for around 2 months. Bike rack is inside a locked garage in an appartment building. Bike had been stolen from same location two years ago and through this website I got it back!!! Now it's gone again. Very frustrating.

Could have been stolen anytime in the two or three weeks prior to January 4th, 2014. I am not certain how the stairway could have been accessed.

I left my bike in front of the Lurie Children's hospital over the weekend, returning to it it was missing. It was locked at the front of the building on a steel fence.

Residential garage that faces an alley way between Cleveland Ave and Mowhawk St was left open for a short period of time. Bike was inside the garage, unlocked. During about a half hour stretch of time the bike was stolen from the garage.

Someone took the bike from my personal garage. No bike tracks were seen in the snow. Assuming it was a truck (or they carried it or I can't track bike tracks).

The bike has been kept in my 2 car garage for a year and a half, at the front of the garage furthest away from the garage door, which is the only exit into the alley. 2 other bikes and a few other items are piled up at the front of the garage as well. I pulled my car back into garage in the evening, and only my yellow, Fuji Shakalaka Beach Cruiser was missing. slightly different than attached picture, bike does not have center storage compartment
