Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike was left locked to bike rack at Palatine train station at 7:30am on morning of 10/17. Upon return at 6:00pm, found lock cable cut and bike missing. Other bikes were in the lot and some others with same quality of lock.

Broke into side door, opened garage door and took bikes. Grainy video footage available showed 2-3 men riding bikes out of the garage down the alley towards Addison Street. Four bikes in total were stolen in this garage theft. Besides the Schwinn, the bikes taken were: +Gary Fisher, Small, Dark Blue, Mountain Bike, 14 years old +Trek, hybrid, medium, dark blue, 10 years old +Trek, Hybrid, Dark green, large, Planet Bike front and rear fenders, rear bike rack, 15 years old

The street sign pole that it was locked to was ripped out of the ground. Bike was taken with U-lock on frame and cable through both wheels.

Been out of town since 9/27, so unsure of exact date of theft

The thief probably cut the cable or maybe figured out the combination. It could have been stolen at any time of the day from Friday-Sunday October 11-13.

My bike along with my girlfriend's bike and another person's bike were in the vestibule near the staircase leading up to her apartment. The locked door to her building has a buzzer for entry and the buzzer malfunctioned and was continuously buzzing (which we did not notice). The person who took my bike was able to enter the building due to the malfunction on the door's lock. One week since the original post: "On a walk with my dog, I found my bike lock. It was neatly placed on a column outside of a building located in the 4800 block of north Paulina. I took my keys out and tried the lock, and sure enough it was my lock.

Opportunistic, eagle-eyed thief spotted my less than stellar lock. Cut and ran.

I forgot to lock it up, and someone jumped the fence in the back of my building and stole the bike.

Bike was last seen at 12pm on 12/14. As I was going to get my bike to go to work I found it missing at 2pm on 12/14 from the gated side walkway at my apt building.

Bike was locked on the corner of lasalle and van buren an At about 745 pm. I returned at 840 to find just my lock, still attached to my front wheel.

I was at Lincoln Park Zoo for the afternoon. I locked it to a bike rack right at the entrance of the zoo. We were only there for about 2.5 or 3 hours. When we came back to get our bikes, my lock had been cut and left on the ground and my bike was gone. All of my roommates bikes were still there.

Bike was stolen from the back entrance of my apartment.

came home, locked my bike. Left to get my bike to ride to work- it was gone.

While I was in class (3pm-6pm) my bike was stolen. The lock and all. This occurred at around the addresses 916 and 910 S. Wabash. I'm guessing they smashed the combo lock and just took everything with them.

Bike was on a guard rail along Route 12 in Richmond IL for 5-7 minutes.

I locked my bike and helmet at the location around 9:30am on Oct 14, 2013. When I came back around 3:30pm, nothing was left.

After watching "Resolution" last night, I put in earplugs and went to bed in my coach house apartment. I thought I heard the garage door open, but I had just watched a scary film and thought I was being paranoid. I woke up this morning to find the door open and my bike missing. The bike has a lock built in to the back wheel so only god knows how they are using the bike. The only difference between my bike and the picture is an installed silver "ecorack" over the back tire with an orange bungee chord wrapped around it.

Bike was locked in front of Parkes Hall on Sheridan Road in Northwestern University, with a row of other bikes. The lock was found unharmed, still locked to the bike rack.
