Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike was locked with a U Lock through frame and front wheel to a bike rack outside Whole Foods on Kingsbury. a man selling Streetwise magazines watched what happened. He reported to me that a man with an electric saw, cut through the U lock and road off with my bike. I was shopping for only an hour.

We were in the process of moving and the bikes were stolen from the enclosed garage

I left my light blue Trek bike locked to a bike rack on 4410 N Ravenswood Ave at 12:00pm. I went to get lunch and do some shopping. I came back to my bike at 1:50PM and my bike was missing with my Bell Zip Tie Bike Lock cut and left on the ground. I asked witnesses around sidewalk if they saw the crime occur. They did not.

Bike was inside my minivan. I am unsure how they gained access to the minivan.

Bike was attached to a rear bike carrier on my car. car was parked in a secured lot behind my condo complex. thief must have jumped a fence and taken bike off car then out the front locked gate (only locked from the outside).

We were in the process of moving, we left the bikes attached to our car in the private garage, and we woke up the next morning and they were gone.

Person walked down alley checking every house, walked into ours and took our bikes off our patio.

Our bikes were kept under our covered 1st floor porch, enclosed by lattice fencing. the only way to see them is if you are in our yard or our back gate is left open. There is no way to see them from the alley or street. We last saw them around 830pm on 3/19/22, and then noticed they were gone at 10am 3/20/22. A neighbor heard a rustling sound around 1am 3/20/22 coming from that area.

The bike was gone after the night. The lock was cut and left outside of a trash can nearby.

I had my bike in my garage - usually unlocked because the garage is closed. The morning of 12/1, I noticed that our front gate to our building was jarred open and that my bike ewas gone. I tried filing a police report but was rejected and told to call to make a burglary report. I have been unable to reach someone on the 311 line to do that. On 3/17/22 -- While biking to work - I saw my bike locked up in front of a building nearby where I live. I am 100% sure this is my stolen bike as it has the same Roscoe Village sticker as my original bike and I have photos of me with the bike in the past

The bike was stolen from the basement apartment of 1235 W North Shore 60626. The bike is black with red and white detail and a white Ancheer label. It is an electric mountain bike that was locked with a Kryptonite u-lock and a "flexible" Kryptonite lock. The bike was in the storage room at around 6 pm on the 15th and was missing along with the locks before 10 am on the 16th.

I passed through the bike room at 10:20am on my way to get into a ride share. I noticed my bike was gone and I emailed by property manager. My helmet, portable light, lock, and bike were gone. I frequently check the bike room to see if it is since there were previous bike thefts in the building. I am almost certain it was stolen this week.

Everything was gone--bike, lock, and cable. Bike was there around noon and gone when I left work at 5.

On Jan 26 2023 the victim wrote that the bike was recovered by CPD. Thief/fence presented the bike to a pawn shop on Lawrence Ave which apparently alerted police. Victim had filed police report on the day the bicycle was stolen. Unknown whether the Chicago Stolen Bicycle Registry listing played a role in the recovery.

Bike was taken out of storage room in basement of The Wilson club.

Returned home from work and bikes were missing from parking space. Bikes were locked to metal pipe in space and locked to other bikes as well. Locks were found on ground appeared to be cut off.
