Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike was left inside Garage only accessible through backyard, not locked because I was only between errands. Between 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., someone went into a garage and took only bike, and nothing else of valuables left in garage. This occurred in Bowmanville, part of Lincoln Square, near Damen and Foster.

My bike was locked to itself in the bike room in our apartment building (820 W Belmont Ave, 60657..side of the building, in the alley across from Ragstock). I've put it there, in the same spot, for a couple months (since I've owned it). I put it in the bike room on April 13, 2016 at around 12:00pm and the next morning (April 14, 2016) it was gone. The bike room is right when you walk into the side of the building, so it's possible someone from the outside got in, but there's never been a break in during the building's history. I'm leaning toward it being someone who lives in the building, but I of course don't know for sure.

As bikes were inside my garage, someone had to enter through the neighbor's door that is never locked, cut the lock and took the bikes.

Stored briefly in garage. All doors were locked and closed. Heard activity in garage, inspected and found large garage door open upon return and bike gone. Helmet left.

This bike was stolen along with a women's Gary Fisher Marlin from the basement of our condo building. The bike were locked together with a cable lock, but it was cut. This is the second time bikes were stolen from our basement.

Stolen from storage room. Needed security key to access room. Then cut threw cage moved other stuff out to get to bike. Did not cut lock on storage. Date range is approx March 18 to April 8. Listed date of discovery. Had to pass security cameras. Going through cameras now.

Not sure. Likely that the cable was cut.

I left my garage at around 7:50 pm to go to the store. I thought I closed my garage. When I returned at around 9:20 pm, my garage was opened and my bike was missing. I have a detached garage facing an alley.

Bike stolen from open garage

Bike stolen from wooden storage unit with metal lock/padlock on door. Storage unit is inside a locked laundry room that's in a building with a locked gate. As far as I know, the gate/laundry room hadn't been broken into, so not sure how the thief gained access to the room. Screws on storage unit had been ripped from wood and bike taken from unit sometime before April 8 at 7:30. May have been as early as late January. Helmet, floor bike pump left in unit and door was closed/ screws somewhat replaced to hold unit door shut (not obvious until I went to open the unit). Bike krytonite lock/holder had been ripped from frame (it was on the frame in the riding position, not locked)and the lock/holder and chain were left behind outside the storage unit.

I discovered my two bikes missing at 10 am on 4/2/16. They had been in storage for several weeks. The last time I saw them was about a week prior.

I locked my bike at night in front of my house, when I woke up my bike wasnt there anymore.

Our garage was broken into last night and three bicycles were stolen, this being the most valuable one. Any help appreciated. Bikes were usually all locked together, but were ridden this weekend and not re-locked. :/

Discovered missing from yard after not riding several weeks; date is an estimate.

I stopped in to get a quick lunch and left my bike leaning against the window next to where I was eating. Got up to go to the bathroom, came back and the bike was gone. Cashier said they noticed somebody get on it and ride away and that the seat looked like it was too high for them and they were awkwardly riding it. By the time I got outside they were gone
