Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bikes were inside my Honda Element. They managed to open one of the doors and took both bikes. 1973 Raleigh Sports and 1980 Miyata 710.

Bike was locked to a metal pipe inside school garage. There was a U-Lock through the front wheel but not connected to the frame, and a combination chain lock through the rear wheel and the frame. I went out to the garage and found the chain lock cut and the front wheel still connected to the pipe with the U-Lock.

I locked my bike in front of work in the Loop. When I left work at 4:00 it was gone.

Bike was stolen while unloading car in 2-car garage.

Got jumped at Chicago/Western...

I had locked up my bike to the bike rack outside of my office and in front of Tippling Hall. When i came down to leave for the day it was gone as well as the lock.

Must have happened over night. I woke up to take my dog out and it was gone. I had my U lock to my frame and front wheel along with a wired lock that went around my back wheel, the porch and through the U lock so it was pretty secure.

The thieves came in through a first floor window, stole three bicycles and left through the front door.

Bike lost as a victim to home invasion - thieves entered through front window into the residence and stole the bicycle.

Bicycle locked in middle of bike racks amidst a populous and crowded location in broad daylight.

Three guys came up to my bike and cut the lock I had around my frame, front wheel, and pole. They tried to ride it away and realized I had a U-Lock on my back tire and frame. They moved to the alley and tried to cut the lock but were unsuccessful. One guy hoisted my bike on to his shoulder and they all rode off down the alley. They were caught on cameras the whole time. My boss is turning the video over to the cops tomorrow, once he burns it to a USB drive.

They ripped the bike from the railing, taking a post from our railing with it. U lock was taken with bike, although I am sure they disposed of it.

Locked bike at 12 pm. Came back from work at 9:30 and bike was gone. Was not thinking and put lock through the tire and fork to the bike rack. Front tire was detached and that was that.

Railing to wooden porch on second story of the back of my apartment building was removed and bike and locks taken.

Had it in my back porch seems they got in from the rear and took it, I had 2 bikes including the NEXT bike they decided to take that one instead. All black Says NEXT.

The bike was on my 2nd floor back porch locked to the metal porch using a heavy duty bicycle chain. The porch area is only accessible thru a garage entrance in the rear of the building via the alleyway and is locked with a security code or thru a locked gate around the front of the building on Augusta Ave. The thief must have either known the code to the garage or climbed over the gate. They cut thru the lock and stole the bike off the porch leaving behind 2 other bikes (1 has a top of the line Kryptonite U-Lock and the other bike is worthless). The theft occurred sometime between Friday morning and Sunday night. My roommates and I were all out of town during this time period.

Bike was absentmindedly left unlocked in backyard of 5331 N. Bernard St, 60625 approx. noon on Sat Aug. 15. I went to work that night and in the afternoon of Aug. 16, did not realize the bike was missing until 6 p.m. Sunday. Bike was not visible from street, but thief entered through the single gateway, apparently left the same way, out to street. Found my Kryptonite u-bolt lock on the sidewalk alongside house. Lock had been hanging on the handlebars, locked, the place I put (it) while riding. Reported to 17th Dist. police (311), and told staff at the bike shop at Bryn Mawr/Western about the theft, just in case thief might try to sell it there.

Early morning, bike was stolen outside of my place of residence at Armitage & Kedzie . Piece of the Kryptonite U-lock was left at the scene. Bike was left outside for only a few hours during a thunderstorm.

Masi bike locked through front tire to rack. Back stolen. Back is a bolt, not quick release so someone had a wrench and removed chain, cog. Brand new continental tire stolen with Brev wheel.
