Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike (frame) was locked to wooden back deck. About one flight up. Thief broke the deck pillars to remove the bike.

Bike was put in a secured bike room in our condo building on Sunday, July 19th at 4:00 p.m. The bike was not locked because the bike room is secured. There are hanging bikes and some bikes on the floor. My bike was on the floor unlocked in the bike room. It was placed next to a Green colored bike. On Sunday, July 26th at 11:00 a.m. I went into the bike room and the bike was missing.

Bike was stolen from the corner of Howard and Sheridan (approx. 1402 W. Howard), across from the Shell Station and in front of a bus stop on the north side of Howard. Very busy intersection.

Bike was locked at the Jefferson Park Transit Center bike racks at about 2:30PM Monday, July 27 and was gone when I arrived back there at 9:30PM.

Parked and locked bike, removed all personal items, such as lights etc., went into store, stayed approximately 15 minutes, came out, bike was gone and lock chunk left at the scene.

The bike was locked up by the front wheel and the frame and the rest of the bike was stolen. The bike was last seen Wednesday night around 8 pm. Others noticed that the bike was stolen around 7-ish on Thursday morning.

The last I saw and used my bike was a week and a half ago. In my apartment building I store my bike in the utility/storage room. There is a padlock on the door which can only be opened with the code number. The only other person who stores a bike and uses this room as a tenant is my roommate. His bike is still right where he left it. No one besides the maintenance guy who gave us the code and permission to store our bikes in here know of the code! I went inside the room today to grab my bike, and it was completely gone. I looked around the entire perimeter of the room, and it had gone missing, however, my roommates bike is still there. Which definitely proves the bike has been stolen. Either someone from inside the apartment building got into the room and stole my bike, or people working on the apartment building have stolen it, because they open that room to gather tools and fix things. I have been storing my bike there for 11 months now and have never had an issue with it. This is a very nice condition bike, all white frame, Womens Hybrid 15" frame Diamondback bike, and keychain underneath the seat. The picture is an almost identical picture, but mine has a white seat!!

My apartment is on the top floor. There is a deck on the back of the house. My bike was on the deck - not locked up. There is a locked fence around the property. Someone came inside the locked yard, up the deck stairs, and took the bike off the deck.

Myself and 3 friends rode to the Halsted Orange line stop to catch the train into town. Locked all bikes together with same cable lock. Returned in approx. 3 hours to find only the Trek mountain bike missing with lock.

Was eating at a diner at Montrose and western, had my bike sitting outside the window of where I was sitting when a 6 feet tall African American who was about 15-18 years old grabbed my bike and got on it. I chased after him east down Montrose for three or four blocks until I couldn't see him anymore.

Bike was hanging up inside garage. The garage door was left open for two hours. Someone came in and took it.

Bike was locked to bike rack outside Harold Washington Library on 401 S Plymouth Ct. I passed by my bike at 5:30pm and it was there, but when I came back at 7pm and it was gone. The library security guards have cameras on that location and footage that could show everything. Unfortunately, they won't let me see it unless the police detectives request the footage. I've filed a police report but don't know how long it will take them to request that.

It was obviously stolen. I got a cell phone call from my mother. When she was going to work at Sushi Day. I have no clue when exactly my bike was stolen. Probably last night when my mother left from work.

Bike was stolen sometime between 10am, July 25th and 5:00pm July 26th. Theives either scaled the wooden gate or got access through neighbors chain linked fence.

Bike was locked to a bike rack outside of Alta building 555 w Kinzie. Was at friends apt for no longer than 2 hours. Walked out to get bike and that's when I saw my chain was cut and left on ground.

I locked my bike at 535 N Michigan on lower Michigan Ave to a bike rack. After I went to a friends apartment for a few hours late in the evening, I came back down and the bike and my lock were gone. I locked my bike through the rear wheel and around frame to a bike rack provided at the building but neither were there after I went back later in the evening.

Bike was stolen from back porch.

The bike was kept in a 2 car garage shared with my neighbor. It was stolen between 8AM and 8PM on Friday during my absence. Garage must have been left unattended by neighbor or the thief had some other way of unlocking the garage door without causing damage.

Bike was locked to the side of outdoor mall area Clybourn Ave - The bike racks are on the side of the little shopping mall outside of the Tuxedo Warehouse - Panera is also located in this area - The front wheel of the bike and lock were all that remained - it looks like they tore the frame from it because the tire was damaged.
