Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

This bike was stolen from my yard. Ripped from the fence post and taken down the street. The bike was updated with contemporary parts. BROOKS SADDLE, SCHWALBE GREENGUARD GATORSKIN WHEELS, VELO ORANGE HANDLEBARS, 70 MM NITTO QUILL.

Both Front and back ground floor doors left open, gates to outside left open, perpetrator(s) entered building, took bikes and left without closing anything.

Both front and back gates, plus both locked doors to apartment building were open. I live on the third floor, and those who stole it explored freely in the building to find bikes in a foyer, at which point they were stolen. THe doors were not shut upon exit.

The bike had two locks. One on the front tire and through the frame and one on the back tire through the frame.

Someone entered, or was already in, the back porch area which you have to enter through an alley, turn and open the back gate with a key, go up the stairs and around the corner to the left to find the bike. There was another bike next to it, unlocked, that was not taken. The stolen bike had its lock(s) cut and removed with the bike.

Someone broke into my backyard, jumped up on to my porch and broke the part of the porch that my bike was locked to.

My bike was kept in a garage for my condo. It was stolen sometime between Saturday, July 26 at 4 PM and Sunday, July 27 at 1 PM, when I noticed it was gone.

Had a Magna bike that was stolen in front of the Common Cup on Rogers Park. The bike is 95% pick with purple cables. The thief apparently used a wire cutter to cut the cable. It was parked outside between 1230PM and 515PM on Thursday, July, 24th.

My bike had an Adams trail-a-bike attached to it when it was stolen. Was taken overnight from our garage.

Bike was stores in garage , which is usually kept closed but workers were on site and going in and out. Someone likely walked by and saw their opportunity and grabbed it.

Bike locked via front wheel (originally thought was locked via frame and front wheel, but concerned only front wheel locked)

The guy provided stolen ID and Credit Card for the test ride. out the door before the cards were double checked.

My beloved Raleigh Twenty was stolen from my back yard. It was locked with a Kryptonite Fahgettaboudit lock to a grill that is almost hidden from view. The grill was unbolted and the bike was removed, and taken out of my back yard, then south down the alley. I know they went south because they dropped the pump that was on it about two houses away. Sadly I don't have the serial number, but I do have many detailed photos. The original place it was purchased has a sticker below the top tube behind the chainguard.

Bike was being stored in garage on hooks. I share the garage with other tenants. I left out of the garage in the morning and shut the garage door behind me. When i returned in the afternoon i noticed it was gone. my upstairs neighbor told me he noticed the garage door was open around 12:30pm and shut it. i don't think anyone from the building was in the garage that morning, and i'm darn sure i shut the garage door behind me. there is no sign of forced entry. of all the things we store in the garage, only bikes were stolen. i also lost a heritage chief fixer upper that was hanging next to my yocota in the garage that day.

Bike was locked on 2nd floor porch at the back of the apartment. 2x4 was used to break beams of the wooden porch which the bike was attached to free bike from porch. Lock was taken along with bike. There was another unlocked bike next to it, but was not taken

Locked outside on a third story balcony while going out for the night. Thief cut through the post to get the bike.

I locked my bike to the bus stop sign at Belmont and Clark for the West bound Belmont bus and went to the Annoyance theater across the street for a few hours. I think there's a possibility it was removed by the CTA (even though there is nothing posted indicating this practice is illegal).

This was in front of the new Pet Supply store opening at Milwaukee and Paulina. I locked my bike up, as well as my son's, each with a separate cable lock, to the bike rack. We took the seat off of my son's bike and took it with us. When we returned about an hour later, my bike was still there and secured to the rack but my son's bike was gone and the lock was cut and left behind. The perpetrator left a damaged, unridable, bike in its place - without locking it up.
