Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

At some point during the night, the perpetrators cut the lock and absconded with both mine and my wife's bicycles. They were chained to the fence on the parking lot next door to the long room bar.

My house was broken into while I was sleeping. My TV, Xbox and bike were stolen.

My husband and I locked our bikes together around a large tree across the street from Roy's Furniture (facing the store) using an OnGuard braided steel cable and our two U-Locks. However, both U-Locks were only connected to my husband's rear and front tires, not mine (bad mistake). Foot and car traffic is heavy in this area and we only planned to be inside an hour at most. The steel cable was cut through twice. They attempted to remove the front tire of my husband's bike but the locks prevented it. I'll be filing a police report today. Bike was locked with 2 U locks to the front tire, body, and rack, as well as the back tire to the body and rack.

Individual(s) came through or over locked fence. Bike was locked to the metal window bars on the deck of my third story walk up. Combination Cable lock was cut and left on the scene. So far no witnesses.

Bike was locked to a tree approx. 8-10 inches in diameter on N. Spaulding about 100 feet from Fullerton. It was locked there at about 7:30 pm and I saw it last at about 11:00 pm and when I came back out of my friends apartment at about 1:00 it was gone without any trace of my lock.

My bike was stolen in front of my office at 200 N LaSalle(at the corner of Lake & LaSalle) sometime between 9am - 12pm. The bike was stolen on Thursday 8/19/2010 during work hours likely right in front of many people since it was in a crowded area. The bike was less than 1 week old.

The thieves sawed through the Kryptonite Series 2 lock. They left the barrel end of the u lock. It has black heat marks, and saw tooth blade marks through it.

I stupidly had the bike locked up overnight to a tree using a heavy gauge metal chain & padlock. The tree's still there, but the bike & chain are gone.

Bike was locked with a u-lock to an iron fence in front of my apartment. The iron fence was sawed through so Kryptonite u-lock still may be in tact on the bike frame. Bike was taken from near the corner of broadway and briar in east lakeview betwen the hours of 8p-8am on 8/19 - 8/20.

Locked up the bike on a sign post outside my building at 11PM and the next morning it was gone. It's got curved front handles and a rack on the back. Otherwise, its practically new. Please contact me if you've seen it or have it - JUST WANT THE BIKE BACK! Thank you.

I left the bike unlocked in the alcove of Theatre Wit. It's a covered space and the doors to the building where I was are right inside there. I ran inside for a couple minutes to drop some things off and when I came back it was gone. This is such a great bike! I would love the help to find it. Thank you!

Bike was parked under the bridge at the Ravenswood Metra station. I try to park it toward the outside of the overpass area, where there is more foot traffic. U-lock (kryptonite) went through the front tire and around the frame (and attached to the bike rack); back tire was secured to the frame of the bike with a wire lock. Helmet was also attached to the lock. I have no idea when it was stolen; I parked it there in the morning on my way to work and it was gone when I returned at about 6:15 pm.

Left bike locked to No Parking Tow Zone sign outside French Market/Ogilvie Entrance on Clinton between 5pm Tuesday Aug 17th and 5pm Wednesday August 18th........Bike with lock was gone. You'd think right outside Ogilvie Entrance would be safe.

Bike was locked under train tracks on north side of Lawrence Ave, by Ravenswood Metra Station at approx. 1:30PM on August 12th, 2010, returned at 9:30, bicycle was gone with lock left behind.

I had forgottem to bring the key to the bike lock. So i rested it against the Chase tower wall and went in the building for a few minutes. When i came out the bike was gone.

After a concert of about 3 hours I came outside to find both wheels gone. The bike was still U-locked to the pole. A little after I noticed, someone found two wheels a little down the road that weren't mine so it is assumed that the thief replaced his own wheels with mine. The rims are unique to my kind of bike so it is very unlikely that they would be found on another bike without being stolen.

I had just purchased this bike off of craigslist from the original owner and was loving every minute of it. Two days later, I rode up to Bally's to sign-up for a membership and workout. As I arrived, I saw a well populated bike rack and a man standing nearby holding his helmet. He approached me and said, "be careful, I just had my bike stolen." He proceeded to tell me his cable lock had been cut and his bike was gone. I hadn't been able to get a U lock yet, but figured I was decently safe with my cable lock considering that no thief would be dumb enough to steal a bike from the same spot twice on a crowded Sunday. An hour later, my worst fears were realized as my large bike didn't jump out at me from a distance. As I got closer, I saw my cut cable lock and helmet laying on the ground.

Locked overnight and when I awoke it was gone.

The bike was inside a locked apartment foyer/lobby, parked next to the steps leading up to the apartment.It was not locked to anything. I parked the bike around 4pm yesterday and that's the last time I saw it. Today I came down the steps about 1:45pm and the bike was no longer there. Whoever did it either lives in my apartment building or knows someone who lives in the apartment building and was granted access, as you have to have keys to get into the lobby.
