Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

I locked it to the no parking sign in front of my apartment at 11:00 PM. I got up for work at 5:00 AM and it was gone. Bike lock had to be cut because the sign is in tact and I locked the front wheel and frame to the sign.

Bike was in a busy area in the middle of the day.

I was working out at the fitness center. I arrived at around 2:45 and went back outside to get my bike around 5:30. The bike and lock were gone from the front of the building. I think someone cut the lock and put the bike and cut lock into their car and drove away.

The bike was stolen from the back deck of our condo while we were on vacation. It was locked to the deck with a U-lock. We live in a gated area which the perpetrators must have entered and then they dismantled part of our deck to free the bike. We do not know exactly what day this incident occurred.

I parked my bike on the bike rack between two buildings at Rush University Medical center between 10a and 2:10p. The bike rack was full and I only had room to lock the bike from the wheel and fork :( Someone must have noticed that I didn't lock my bike at the frame. My bike lock (A U-lock) was left but my bike was gone. It's a "rootbeer" Trek bike that has a lot of sentimental value. Please help.

i came home at midnight and both bikes were there in garage, the next morning when i came to the car garage both bikes were missing this was around 9am, both helmets gone and lock. there wasn't any signs of broken doors or open garages. i'm so sad so if you find a blue bike and pink helmet and a red bike with helmet please report back to me

The bike was locked to a city bike rack underneath the Metra over pass, right next to the Healy Metra Stop on Fullerton and Central Park. I locked it with a U-Lock, through the frame, the front wheel, and used a cable lock through the back wheel. The only fault was that I left the bike overnight there because I did not take the train home at night, and I forgot to get it. When I returned to the Metra station this morning, my bike was gone. There are usually about five other bikes parked there on a daily basis, and its a busy area, but at night it I can imagine someone having the time to saw through the lock, even though it is in a public area.

At 9:45 a.m. Saturday June 19, 2010, I went outside to unlock my bicycle to go for a ride and found it was missing. The cable and padlock were intact, but the bicycle was nowhere to be seen.

While at lunch someone cut the lock with bolt cutters, likely in front of other people as the area has decent foot traffic.

This is a picture from online of what my bike frame looks like, but the extras under the bike seat and on the handle bars are not on my bike. I haven't checked on my bike all winter (we keep it locked in our building's bike storage). I went down this spring to take it out for a ride and it was was gone along with the lock. This is an odd situation b/c I don't have any clue what day it might have been stolen, just sometime this winter. Only people in our building have a key to our building and to our bike storage. So, I'm assuming it was someone in our building, maybe a renter.

yeah, the lock was picked and the thief left behind a beater bike!! i have an image here somewhere, trying to find the file, hopefully i can come back and edit this... the bike is unmistakable, i was the only dude riding around the hood on a purple cannondale 2 sizes too small,

Mostly my fault... Left my bike locked to itself on the front porch when I got back from work, intending to take into the garage after dinner. Saw the bike on the porch later in the evening around 9:30pm when a friend came over. Next morning, it was gone.

I went into the Apple store after locking my bike thinking it was totally safe in such a high pedestrian traffic area, when I came out it was gone, all the other bikes appeared to still be there - many bikes!

Bike was stolen from our basement. It was behind a locked door.

Went to the Lincoln Park Zoo on a family bike outing. Spent a few hours at the zoo, went to breakfast at the Original Pancake House and returned to find my bike and my daughter's trailer bike missing. The bikes were parked directly in front of the zoo at the bike rack. My bike was locked, the trailer was not. The bastards did not even leave the helmets!

I left my bike outside while i worked at the shop. At 7:30 I went to work out at Wicker park fitness. When i was done with my hour long class and came back the bike was gone.

This bike I loved. Navy blue frame, Bianchi written in green lettering. New. Planet bike fenders, bianchi seat, front light mount, rear rack. stolen from in front of my apartment from a rack, rack was mutilated, cut with bolt cutters or some big machine, bike lock still on bike-- bike lock kryptonite.

Bike was locked to railing outside of Woodstock High School Gym doors,, someone undid lock and then locked it back up.

This bike was purchased on May 29, and stolen 3-4 days later from our garage. The thief used a bolt cutter to shear through a fairly large stainless steel cable, leaving behind the lock. The thief left behind a DAWES 10 speed bike with white handles and a well worn leather seat attached to this bike is a red back pack I assume they carried the bolt cutters in. I will be reporting the discovery of this bike ASAP.

I locked my bike up in front of my work and when I left for the day, my bike was gone.
