Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

I store my bike in the basement of my apartment building which is locked, and there is a locked gate around our building. I came down tonight and saw my bike was missing. A neighbors bike which is kept right next to mine was also missing. My bike had a heavy-duty U-lock locking the back wheel to the frame so it is not possible that someone rode away on the bike. One of my neighbors was moving out today so I initially thought the movers grabbed the bikes by accident thinking they belonged to her but she is fairly certain they did not take the bikes. The basement where the bikes are stored is loaded with all kinds of tools and higher-priced items so it's hard to believe they were stolen - especially considering my bike was un-ridable and the other bike was covered in dust and the tires were completely flat. I plan on contacting my neighbor's moving company tomorrow morning.

Not much to say. Came out of work and the bike was gone along with the lock. Building says no cameras.

We aren't sure, but the bike was last used August 10, 2016. We realized it was missing on 8/17/16.

dropped off son at daycare at armitage and rockwell. made poor decision not to lock bike thinking other people around would protect bike from being stolen; but it was taken in front of them anyway. it was ridden south on rockwell to wabansia where someone found my discarded bike bag with all my belongings - but no bike. keep an eye out on the 606 and in the west bucktown/humboldt park/logan square area. thanks.

Stolen between midnight and 6am on 8/17/2016 from back stairwell of apartment building 2624 N Albany Ave RECOVERY NOTE: Bike located and recovered at Swap O Rama (41st & Ashland) 3-4 days post-theft.

Bike was hanging in locked apartment entryway, and was stolen between 11:30 PM and 6:00 AM.

Bicycle was hanging in locked apartment entryway, and was stolen between 11:00 PM and 6:00 AM.

Locked up the bike at 4:30, returned at 5:10 to no bike.

Garage door was left open for an hour, someone went in and walked away with the bike.

Our garage door was found open around 11:30 pm and the bikes were missing. We don't know how they got into the garage since the door does not appear damaged in any way. We are certain the door was closed at 10 pm, when my husband did the nightly rounds to make sure all our doors and windows were closed and locked for the night. The picture I'm providing shows the bike when first purchased (3 months ago). It doesn't have the Burley rack on it yet.

Between the hours of 8:30 pm on 8/14/16 and 5:30 pm on 8/15/16 the Trek was stolen from inside a locked gate in the rear of the 5718 N Winthrop Ave apartment building. The front wheel was locked to the bike rack and the frame and rear wheel were stolen. The lock and front tire where left on the bike rack.

Bike locked to sign outside Chicago Diner for 1.5 hrs. Both bike and lock were missing.

Bike was left then stolen under a porch in a fenced in back yard.

I was about to bring it into the secure, locked gate of our back court year, then into the basement. When my daughter appeared suddenly and unexpectedly, after some confusion, I foolishly left the bike unattended for 5-10 minutes. The bike was gone, along with the groceries, locks, and helmet in the rack. I scanned the area for awhile in my car to no avail.

Bike was taken from a really visible location right by the zoo employee stand.. at least 10 other bikes parked thier.

My wife and I were climbing at first ascent uptown for two hours. Came back out to no bikes, no U locks.

My husbands bike and mine were locked outside of First Ascent Climbing Gym, uptown. One U lock and 2 cables missing along with both bikes.
