Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

I was run off the road by a drunk driver on New Years at two in the morning and fractured my face on the corner of Chicago and Western. A Good Samaritan called an ambulance, but the EMTS left my bike on the corner because it wouldn't fit in the ambulance.

I locked it to a strong metal fence in front of the building entrance door. Both the lock and the bikes are stolen. I believe the person who stole the them is a PROFESSIONAL thief.

Horrible person broke into my garage and stole my bike, didn't even have courtesy to close door behind them, inexplicably took my piece of crap helmet and a lock for which they didn't have the keys.

The bike was stolen from our enclosed multiple unit garage either Sunday Dec 28 2014 evening or Monday Dec 29 2014 morning. The bike was leaning on the wall in front of our car, not locked. I suspect another tenant exited the garage and possibly left the door open.

My bike was in the alley, I was about 10 feet away in my yard, someone stole it.

I think the U-lock may have been compromised, or maybe I improperly locked it.

I went into the 7-Eleven on Diversey and Pine Grove for about 10 minutes to get a few items and left the bike right outside the front door unlocked. When I returned, the bike was gone.

Bike could have been stolen up to 1 week earlier. It was in a rear, gated area of the Crilly Court apartment complex where the lock was cut and the bike was stolen. I believe it was an inside job because it was in the middle of the complex and furthest away from the street where common a passer-by would be able to spot it. Thus, someone working or living inside the community likely took it.

Someone over the weekend came and cut the cable and took both cable and bike

Bike was locked to a metal fence overnight, discovered missing at 8:45am. The fence was not compromised and the lock was not left behind.

Bike was locked to itself with trek U Lock Armored Series lock through the frame and front wheel. While not in use the bike was kept in the garage locked in this manner since May 2014

Bike was locked through both wheels and frame to city provided bike rack. 2900 N Lincoln in the early afternoon. Was in the shop for no more than 20 minutes and there was another bike locked to the same rack when I returned, albeit with a U lock.

Had locked the bike to a bike rack near Chicago union station at 11.30 am approximately and gone for an hour. Came back and found the bike completely missing. No traces.

The bike was likely the only one stolen out of the bike cage in our enclosed parking garage because it was one of the nicer bikes in very good condition. It was locked through the frame and both wheels so it was unlikely that they rode it out.

Bike was stored on the back porch of a third floor walk-up apartment. Porch area is located in an alley, and is not visible from the main road. Bike was not visible from the alley either. Looked out on porch and bike was gone. Cut cable lock was left behind. Incident likely occurred at night.
