Started raining halfway thru dinner so we decided to cab it back home and grab the bikes the next day. Low and behold they were gone.

BIke was kept in a locked, wooden (permanent) storage shed on our property. Bike itself was not locked to anything inside the storage shed. Discovered that the bike was missing around 8:30am on the morning of July 27. We believe that someone entered our gated yard (6 ft fence), gained entry into the shed and then left through the gate into the alley behind our house with the bikes. We found the damaged u-lock from the bike further down in the alley.

One man pulled his bike close to mine (perhaps to look like he was busy locking up his own bike), then the other cut the coil or the lock. They both rode off on bikes, heading south on N. It has custom 18" bare metal chrome handle bars that look like down facing bull horns. It has a chrome rear rack. A seat with a shopping cart icon on it. The rear wheel has a blue line around the wall. It has a 1401 s state street bike permit #144 under seat post. A simple black rear fender. ** Note photo of bike has grips, bike did NOT have grips when stolen.

The garage area is only open to residents with active FOB keys, and there is 24hr security desk not far from garage. No trash men were scheduled at the time. All staff know of the situation and will review tapes.

I locked my bike to the rack behind the Water Tower Place, in front of the MCA around 2:30pm. There was an overflow of bikes parked on the rack today, so much so that they were three deep parked along the fence and street sign poles, as well. I found a spot on the rack and parked my bike facing the plaza of the MCA. I have a view of this rack from my place of work and noticed it gone around 5:15-5:20.
