Incident Description: 
I locked my bike to bike rack in front of Target on State St and Madison in the Loop. I locked it up a couple minutes before 7pm, ran into Target for a few things, and was back outside by 7:15pm. Bike gone with cut lock still there. There is a built in alarm that when bike is moved the alarm chirps a few times. If it is sat on, it continues to go off. Apparently that wasn’t enough to deter the thief.

I received an email from my landlord today (i.e. Wednesday, October 9th 2024) that some bikes were stolen from the bike room. I checked the bike room at around 12:10 p.m. and it was not there. The bike lock was left at the scene, locked. This suggests that someone was able to pick the lock.
