I almost never leave my bike out overnight, but the Saturday night before I was moving out of my apartment I locked it to a metal fence in the alley adjacent to my building. When I left my apartment the next morning (Sunday about 8:00am) bike and lock were missing but fence to which it was locked appeared unharmed--assuming someone cut through my U-lock either very late at night or early in the morning. After talking to staff at my local bike shop, my guess is someone stole the bike to sell at a local flea market.

The bike is completely black and was fairly used for a year. I believe the tires are Continental SuperSport Plus (they are not the stock tires). The only brake is on the front right hand side and does not work properly. There are white scratches in place of my U-lock and water bottle holder (were not attached when stolen). There was only one reflector and it was red, right under the seat. The inner tube valve is longer on the rear valve that the front.

Bike was locked in my backyard to the fence. Bike had a flat and so was left unattended until I had time to fix it, so likely the thieves could see it was unmoved for several days. My U-Lock was too short to lock it to the top bar of the fence so it was only locked to the chain link. The chain link was cut and bike taken away.
