I locked my bike to a sign post in front of work at 10:15 am. I noticed at about 1:00 pm the bike frame was gone and only the tire remained (I incorrectly locked the bike to the sign.). It was confirmed on camera the bike was stolen between 12:00am and 1:00pm. Unfortunately the camera only captures images every hour.

This morning I stopped home to feed the cat before work, locked the back wheel of my bike to it's frame since there's no pole in the alley to lock it to. Bike was take out of a closed single car garage between 6/12/10 2:00pm and 6/13/10 2:00pm. Garage door had been closed but was found open on 6/13/10. This bike and a women's Kona Lanai were taken from the garage in the alley between Fremont St. and Wilton St. No other items were taken. Even the bike pump was left behind. No obvious evidence that the door was forced.

The bike and the lock were both completely gone. I have no idea how the lock was broken as this was a brand new U-shaped lock that I purchased less than 1 month ago. I just don't know how somebody could have broken that lock. The bike is amongst many others in an enclosed parking garage. I have also submitted a report to CPS parking, which will probably yield no results although they do have security cameras in the garage. I thought the location and lock set up was very secure, but I guess I was mistaken.
