Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

The only unusual detail would be that there are TWO locks attached to the bike. I'd imagine they wouldn't be easy to remove, as they're heavy-duty locks. PLEASE keep an eye out!!!

Went in at 12:00 noon to get hair cut, came out at 1:05pm & bike, helmet, & lock was gone. Bike rack was bare.

Bike was stored in a locked car trunk, with wheels removed.

U lock broke last week assumed it was defective and old so was using only a kyptonite rope lock to lock wheels and bike to bike posts. The area is pretty open but near construction workers on opposite side of the street. Someone with big wire cutters could have snappedthe rope lock but unsure and upset.

Just noticed the above bike missing

I locked the bike to a metal fence at about 10:00 PM. When I can out the next morning I found that the fence had been cut through and the bike was gone.

It was locked to a steel fence in my back parking lot and somebody completely dismantled the pole from the wooded fence. The bike chain lock is also gone.

The bike was locked to a tree. I think that the lock was cut or the code was figured out.

I rode to work in the morning and locked the bike up with a Kryptonite cable lock threaded through the frame, both wheels, and a bike rack. When I left work the bike and lock were gone without a trace. I saw then that the bike rack was not bolted to the ground. However, the rack was quite heavy and had a long foot on the bottom that would have made removing the bike, as tightly as the cable was wound around it, very difficult. Apparently not difficult enough!

two bikes were locked to gate at Stearns Quarry park in Bridgeport, 28th & Halsted--One, an all black custom fixed gear with brown brooks saddle, the other is a girl's Specialized Vita (silver/lavender), we walked through the park for about 20 minutes, upon returning to the bikes they were gone, the lock was cut.

I had my bike locked to the fence which separates my apartment building to the building next door. This area is locked and only people living in my building or the one next door have access to it. I had my bike locked up with another bike and so instead of having the padlock around the frame of the bike, I had the cable around the bikes and the padlock was connecting the cable. My bike had a black basket on the front and a light attached to the handle bars. The cable must have been cut because the fence was not broken.

I have security footage of the person stealing my bike but it was shot from a distance and the image is blurry. But he enters around 12:40 am in the common area of the apartment complex and is wearing a light white outer shell and blue jeans, he also seems to be wearing a yellow t-shirt underneath. He walks under the staircase where my bike was locked and remains under the stairs for a good 2-3 minutes. He emerges with my bike and the locks still on them. I had 2 locks on the bike, the first lock was connected to the front wheel and frame which was locked to the railing underneath the stairs. The second lock was connected between the rear wheel and frame. Once he leaves the complex, he is caught on the security camera riding the bike behind the garage doors. He was wearing a cheap black messenger bag. It seemed like he was around 6 feet tall or so. Not sure if he was an African-American or Caucasian.

Bike was stolen from a private garage at same time as an Orange Torelli road bike.

Bicycle was stolen from a private garage, the garage door was inexplicably open. A Lemond Poprad Cyclocross Bike (Metallic Beige) was stolen at the same time. THe bicycle had a flat tire when it was stolen, and hubs were locked to the frame, so any thief/purchaser might have to bring it a bike shop to get the wheel removed

bike taken from back deck overnight. Not locked - was presumed to be secure area.

It looks like someone in my building propped the back gate open leading to the alley (it was open this morning). That would have given easy access to my bike. Stolen sometime between 10pm and 7am.

bike was left at above said location at approximately 11:30 on 5/31/2010. left Weather Mark Tavern, and bike was gone.

The lock was definitely cut since the bike next to mine had a cut about halfway through its Kryptonite lock. I had a Kryptonite Evolution Mini U-Lock. I have only seen 1 other of the same bike in the 3.5 years I have owned it and that most likely was not 48 cm. So if you see a 48 cm red and white Cannondale Capo, its probably mine.

Stolen from behind my apartment building. Lock was clipped (I hadn't used my Ulock, just a cable). The bike frame's brand and front plate icon is extremely distinctive -- I've never seen another one like it, so I'm hoping there's a chance slightly higher than a snowball's in hell that i can track it down!

Bike stolen while daughter at school. Oddball bike, not worth much $ but sentimental value. Have full serial #. Thanks for any info.
