Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike was locked in a shared common basement area shared by only 3 other tenants. Building common areas were rekeyed July 28, however the locksmith and building management were negligent because I was able to find a side basement door still keyed to the old lockset!

i went into the gym to work out for about an 1.5 hours and i came out and my bike/lock was gone

Bike was in a locked lobby of my apartment building. I got home around 12:00 and when I came back down for it at 2:40, it was gone. I forgot to lock it to the stairwell when I got back home.

Sometime between 1:50 pm and 3:40 pm somebody got into our home garage and stole unlocked bike.

Locked it up after my commute home, it had rained so I didn't bring it inside this time. Woke up and walked outside to find the bike and lock MIA.

I locked my bike up in the morning and when I left work to get it it was gone along with the lock

Bike stolen overnight from my back porch on 2nd floor apartment in Wrigleyville. I last locked the bike approximately 4PM sunday October 16. On the morning of October 17th I notice the railing it was locked to was removed and the bike was missing including the U-Lock

My garage was briefly left open, and the bike was stolen. The thief left behind a old beater bike, probably one he was riding. I suppose it's hard to ride off on a stolen bike and take your own bike with you.

Bike was still locked up when leaving work at Venue One at approximately 1:30 am Saturday night. It and the lock were gone when I returned to pick it up Sunday morning.

1651 W Chicago Avenue: Left bike against exterior window where it was visible to me while I obtained coffee to go and turned away for a few minutes when I looked back it was gone.

My bike was stolen from in front of an apartment building, and it was locked to a street sign pole on the sidewalk. I was in the building for approximately an hour, and when I exited out front, it was gone. The chain was stolen along with the bike. I did not see when exactly it was stolen, or by whom, because i was in the building the whole time. It is an adult road bike, model Jamis Aurora, green and grey color.

My bike was located in my car near lake and wells here in chicago. At around 5am saturday morning I was involved in a car accident and I had to go to the hospital. My vehicle was left there on scene with tow trucks and police, I left my bike in my car. Once I received my car back from city impound, the bike had been gone and removed.

Bike was locked to a street sign outside of the Westin Hotel (909 N Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL 60611) on Michigan Ave and Delaware Pl at 8:00AM. Bike and lock were missing when I returned at approximately 5:10PM.

It was locked hidden behind two other bicycles that were not taken. The Kryptonite cables were cut clean.

Locked my bike outside of Tula Yoga in Logan Square a little before noon. Came out of my hour and fifteen minute long yoga class to find the lock cut and my bike gone.

Parked out front on a tree in front of my work. Went it to grab lunch and it was gone.

Bike was stolen from the Foyer of my apartment at 2606 W. Altgeld St. Chicago, IL. Three bikes were there, 2 were unlocked. Mine was the one the robber decided to swipe,

I kept the bike on the back porch of my apartment which is on the third floor. You couldn't really see it from street view, maybe if you really looked.

There were five bikes locked to the side of the fence at my apartment building. One bike was not locked and on my back porch, third floor (that was taken also). I was out on my backporch til about 2:30 am last night. When my roommate left for work at 8am she texted us to say all the bikes were missing, except the one without a seat.
