I store my bike in the basement of my apartment building which is locked, and there is a locked gate around our building. I came down tonight and saw my bike was missing. A neighbors bike which is kept right next to mine was also missing. My bike had a heavy-duty U-lock locking the back wheel to the frame so it is not possible that someone rode away on the bike. One of my neighbors was moving out today so I initially thought the movers grabbed the bikes by accident thinking they belonged to her but she is fairly certain they did not take the bikes. The basement where the bikes are stored is loaded with all kinds of tools and higher-priced items so it's hard to believe they were stolen - especially considering my bike was un-ridable and the other bike was covered in dust and the tires were completely flat. I plan on contacting my neighbor's moving company tomorrow morning.

We are certain the door was closed at 10 pm, when my husband did the nightly rounds to make sure all our doors and windows were closed and locked for the night. The picture I'm providing shows the bike when first purchased (3 months ago). It doesn't have the Burley rack on it yet.

It was my dads bike so the frame is over 20 years old. I found online it's a 1986 Mile 112 bridgestone. Handel bars are white with Italy stickers around the end. Wheels are black and tan (different from the picture bc my boyfriend changed the seat and peddles) all changes were done and purchased at cycle smitty. Peddles are flat and silver. I know it's unlikely I'll find the bike but I'm heartbroken bc it was my dads gifted to my boyfriend. My dad use to talk about biking everywhere around the lake with it.

Good shape by appearance. Auxiliary hand-break levers installed on the upper handlebar. When stolen, it had a rack on the back, with a plastic purple crate [in bad shape] attached to that. A small seating for a front bike light was taped to the center of the handlebars with black electrical tape. One side of the rear rack is anchored to the frame w/ a bungie cord [missing screw] and I think one of the toe clips was patched w/ a similarly makeshift connection.

When my daughter appeared suddenly and unexpectedly, after some confusion, I foolishly left the bike unattended for 5-10 minutes. The bike was gone, along with the groceries, locks, and helmet in the rack. I scanned the area for awhile in my car to no avail.
