Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Double locked with. Both u lock and cable. Someone must have picked the lock because no sign of either cable or lock.

I live in Iowa City, IA and had my bike stolen out of my garage this morning.

Apartment was broken into, Bike was stolen along with Ipad, Stereo, and some jewelry.

During the Aids Run at Soldier Field I locked the bike to a rack on the East side of the stadium by the stairs around 8:30am. when I locked it up there was another bike locked to the rack. when I went back to the rack at 10:00am and it was gone.

We parked and locked two bikes to the bike rack outside LP Zoo and when we returned the bikes were missing. LP Zoo officials and CPD indicated that there have been a rash of thefts at the zoo recently.

I went to drop off some t shirts at my friends house. Locked my bike to the fence, locking only the frame with a cable and pad lock. When I returned in 20 minutes it was gone. My friend lives in an apartment building and his neighbors have about 15 people packed into a 2 bedroom apartment. I believe they stole my bike. I also have reason to believe they sell drugs because there are always young men and women out front, meeting up and shaking hands with people. This is on the corner of Addison and Laramie. They will stand outside throughout the day with people coming and going. Please help me find my bike, my father bought it in the 80's and that's all I have to remember him by.

I failed to lock the bike frame with my u-lock. I mistakenly only locked the front wheel (quick release) to the bike rack and the thief just took the frame and left the front wheel locked to the bike rack. THE SECURITY DESK IN THE CBOT BUILDING HAS VIDEO FOOTAGE OF THE THEFT. THE THIEF'S DESCRIPTION IS MALE, WHITE, ABOUT 5'7" DRESSED AS A BIKE MESSENGER WITH A BACKPACK. I can't believe this brand new bike rack for over like 60 bikes, was just installed recently and is targeted so often. After talking to security guards from across the street from where it was stolen, they've seen the activity and describe it as an organized operation. Unfortunately they didn't see anything suspicious on that day. Interestingly enough, just around the corner, 2 front wheels were stolen the same day my bike was.

Bike was unlocked in my condo building for a maximum of 24 hours.

Locked it to itself in backyard in Roscoe Village. Put it in a spot that would be out of view of the street or alley.

The frame was stolen and front wheel left with lock to metal gate.

I left my bike in front of Barn and company overnight. It was locked to a street sign that was uprooted to get at the bike

I either left the U lock like a bone head locked around the aerobars or the U lock was broken. I think the latter was the cause and I left the lock around the aerobars.

I always kept my bike in the locked garage behind my house. The neighbor who shares this garage with me left the garage door open and someone came in and stole the bike.

I locked my bike up upon returning home at around 10:30pm on Sep 24. I left the house the following morning at around 8:15am to find my bike gone.

I rode the bike to school and locked it up at 8:20 am. When I got out of class at 10:15 am, the bike was gone. The bike and lock were taken along with my white Specialized helmet that was locked up with the bike.

2010 Specialized Tricross was taken from my back yard at my residence, 1504 West Henderson Apt, 2F on August 21, 2013 between the hours of 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm.
