Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

My bicycle was locked on an old parking meter in between 1817-1819 S Ashland Avenue. It was locked with a Kryptonite Keeper 785 bike chain lock. The lock was missing as well so they either picked the lock or cut and disposed of it. I walked out of 1819 S Ashland and found my bike gone at 2;45pm. I checked its last location and found it tracked to 6159 S Justine Street. Last active location status was at 2:54pm on Saturday, September 6th 2025.

Frame of bike was locked to a rack at 7:00 pm with a Kryptonite U-Lock, and when rider returned at 10:00 pm, the bike had been stolen, with the U-Lock left on the ground. The U-Lock was clean-cut.

Locked to street post while shopping nearby for 30-45 min. Gone when returning to bike.

The bike was locked to the rack in front of the Hyde Park Day School at 6254 S Ellis. The thief arrived on a Divvy bike (that had the tracker torn out) and cut the cable. The Divvy was left at the scene. This was recorded on the school's security camera. The school still has the Divvy.

My apartment building's lobby has 2 bike racks. I keep my bike on one of them. On 09/02025, I went to go ride by bike around 6:15pm. I had not gone outside my apartment all day up until then. I noticed that a handful of the bikes had been moved and some missing, including my own. I checked other storage areas in the apartment to see if it had been moved. I then noticed that only bikes that weren't either locked to the bike stand or to themselves were moved. There are security cameras in the lobby which will be retrieved tomorrow, 09/05/2025.

I had bike locked at 630pm and it was there at 9pm when I woke up and went to use it this morning it was gone along with lock

Locked bike using rear wheel lock and removed bike computer. No evidence of damage anywhere around -area where bike was secured. Happened outside of broadway armory park during open hours.

Bike was observed in bike rack between 1 and 2p. Returned to bike at 4:30p after work and bike was gone. Did not observe anyone approach the bike.

Usually use a U lock but it was stolen while I was working at the Starbucks on Archer and Cermak

I live in a garden apartment and had secured my bicycle beside the stairway using both a bike lock and a cable wire lock. Despite this, my bike was stolen. I noticed burn marks on the wooden stairway near where the bike was kept. It appears this fire damage could have been caused while cutting through the bike lock. The day before the theft, we also had a shoe stolen from outside our apartment.

I left my garage open on accident. Kill me.

I left my bike locked to the fence, inside the gate, in front of my house around 1:30 a.m. and it was gone by 8 a.m. when my roommate left the house for the day. Both the lock and bike are missing, as well as another bike inside the fence that did not belong to me.

No details of incident yet. No one present when bike stolen.

Came out and my bike is gone on ashland

The bike wasn’t locked to anything, but it was within a tall, locked gate with other bikes, which were undisturbed

We parked both scooters at the Bike racks at the Osterman Beach between 2pm and 3:30 (at the latest) pm the scooter was stolen within that time. There was a city camera (5148C) near the mens restrooms and outdoor shower area. There was another person there whos Bike was stolen at the same time, his name was Jake. The scooter in this image is the OTHER SCOOTER that was next to mine but they are the same make and model. That one did not get stolen but was tampered with.

I left the bike locked with a steel folding lock attached to the fence in the driveway behind my house at about 9:00 AM on Friday August 29th. My roommate alerted me at 5:00 on Saturday August 30th that the lock had been sliced through and the bike was gone.

I’m writing to expand the report on the theft of my bike. It’s a specialized turbo Vado SL 4.0 blue size S that I purchased in Bucaramanga, Colombia, in 2022 for 11,410,000 Colombian pesos. At the current exchange rate and value, that’s approximately US$4,000. It was stolen at UIC facilities Behavioral Science Building Harrison Street 1007 main entrance attached with a cable lock to the racks in front of a camera. I parked at 9:42am and come back at 11:30am to notice it wasn't there anymore.
