Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

My bike was tucked behind my porch in the back yard of my apartment. It is always kept back there, usually locked. My backyard is tucked away out of sight, and someone wouldn't be able to have access without walking through 2 other yards and through a private parking lot.

Bike was stolen from my home between 4:30pm and 8pm on March 16th. Person may have been seen with bike around the intersection of Augusta and Washtenaw.

Bike was locked to a street lamp, it’s a new building but no bike racks have been installed yet. Saw bike at 5:30pm and when I came out at 8:30/9pm it was gone.

The bike was locked as well as possible. A kryptonite lock and a kryptoflex cable secured both wheels and the frame. It was locked to a bike rack. The thieves used a bolt cutter to remove the lock, took both bike and cable. This happened in front of the social science building at the University of Chicago. I am inconsolable - I loved that bike.

The bike was right outside my door in the hallway of my apartment building. After work it was missing.

Police report was filed the same day of the incident. R.D. No. JC151997 The bicycle was used daily. The last time I saw the bike was February 13th at 6am. The bicycle was found missing on February 14th at 5:15am. The theft happened in the middle of the night prior to me coming down into the bike room. The thief was caught on camera. The Chicago Police have still not come to pick up the footage to add to the police report. The thief entered the apartment complex using a screwdriver and went down into the basement where he broke into the bike room and stole two bikes, one of which were mine.

Bike was locked with U-lock to a railing outside 515 N. State Street in downtown Chicago. I left the bike for three hours and it was gone upon return. The lock was missing with the bike. Occurred around 2-3pm IN BROAD DAYLIGHT.

Someone broke into my Avondale garage and stole my bike on Sunday night. Any and all help is appreciated.

I keep the bike in the basement of my apartment building. The basement is accessed from the gangway between buildings. Both the basement door and gangway door are normally kept locked, but my upstairs neighbor left both doors open and my bike went missing.

I locked my bike as above on my way to work at 6:05 am, when I got off of work at 15:00 the bike was gone. It looked like there may have been scratch marks in the cement leading away from where it had been locked- but who knows if that is new.

Garage was broken into and the bike was taken along with a few other items.

While it wasn't locked, my bike was stored behind my apartment in a locked courtyard. You couldn't see the bike from anywhere outside of the locked area. You could only see it if you were within 10 feet from my back door, which is at the farthest distance possible from the courtyard entrance.

At 0700 Thursday morning, February 14, I locked my bike to a bike rack outside the East plaza of the Blue Cross Blue Shield at 300 E Randolph. The rack is no more than 20 feet from the entrance of the building. I secured the bike with a Kryptonite cable through the front wheel and U-lock capturing the frame and rear wheel. At 1600 Thursday, February 14, I exited the building and noticed my bike was missing. There was no sign of the bike, the cable, or the U-lock. I just filed a police report online and I'm waiting for the case number.

Apartment was broken into and burglarized sometime between 1-4pm. Lots of things were taken, mostly electronics, as well as personal items. We are the third apartment in this building that were hit in recent weeks. Admin note- on 4/15/2025 the victim wrote: I filed this years ago, and just heard from someone that they bought the bike from a neighbor and just realized it was stolen. I have long since purchased a new bike and want them to keep my old bike.

Bike was locked to bike rack near corner of Erie and State st with a kryptonite u-lock and chain to front tire and was gone when I got off of work.
