Bike was stolen by detaching the front wheel from the frame (the only time I have EVER forgotten to secure the lock around the wheel and the frame). The incident happened on a very busy street during the end of daylight/beginning of twilight and in only an hour. It would have been obvious to passers-by that the bike was being stolen as the thief would have wheeled away the bike on one wheel.

I had gone to work in Lincoln Park, Upon arrival, I had placed my Sekai bike against the building that is next to my job. I simply went 10 feet away for a minute to text my boss and when I turned around my bike was gone. It was 5:30pm and was tired from riding and simply sat next to a building that had a stoop, I never imagined someone would ride off or walk away with my bike. I slightly got distracted by passerby's but I was away from my bike for no more than 10 min. I turned around after texting my boss and my bike was gone. I never heard anyone ride my bike away and I never imagined this would occur in broad daylight in Lincoln Park, Chicago!

When I came out at noon, the bike was gone--the cable had been cut, and the cable and lock were left behind.

In really nice condition, but I've had this bike for about seven years. I has a little bit of rust wear on the upper frame, but other than that, okay. There is a turquoise bike permit sticker from my time at Indiana University, a little worn, but still slightly visible. There is a front clip-on bracket for a basket between the handlebars, and a little light clip-on, without the light. The front fork does not match the body of the bike: it's a thicker aluminum and kind of a frosted silver. The picture uploaded does not show this.

It was Wednesday. I fixed up the bike before on the 4th of September. I thought I would take it to school maybe for a day seeing as it was now rideable as it was sitting in my room for about 2 months. I go to school with my friend in the mornings, so he saw that I locked it it was also around 7:55 am that we went in, I checked to see if it was locked which I always do and it wouldnt budge, I didnt think much of it from there. It was a short day of school so everyone came out at 2:15 pm I was one of the first ones out so when I came out It was gone along with the lock. The school doesnt have off campus anymore so once youre inside theres no way out unless you leave some doors but most have alarms now.

Bike was locked to a fence at Lincoln Park High School at around 7:45am, then a few hours later I took my free period at 11am to go out for lunch, and when was out someone had said that they saw it get stolen, but it was a person I had bad relations with, so I assumed it was a mean joke. When I got back, the bike was gone. I talked to the police officer stationed inside the school and gave the officer a photo of the bike and he has promised to keep an eye out for it around the neighborhood. I know that someone saw it happening and didn't do anything, so I am really hoping you guys will.
