Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike was hidden behind a stairwell in front if my house. Someone got in through mildly secure gate and took 1 of 2 bikes sitting there unlocked. In south Logan Square neighborhood

My bike was locked up in my gated and locked back yard in a spot that was visible from the street for 24 hours. I noticed my bike was missing and filed a police report right away. My bike has yellow brake cables that were really unique and it probably still has the U-lock locked to the frame (newer U-lock with flat key). Please let me know if you see this bike.

So this is what happen I left my bike outside of a local store and next to carts and it have camera and everything their then I went inside and buy some stuff then 3 min later it got stolen when I came out didn't see who took it people told me it was a male and they didn't know which way so I went to the store and ask for a camera from that time and they show it to me I have proof of that person taking it but noting the police can do about it I file a report and so on.

The fence that the lock was locked to was cut: it looked as if the bar of the fence was cut with bolt cutters or a type of snipping tool. The lock and bike were then lifted up off the pole. The lock was removed with the bike.

Lock was only through the front wheel and front part of the frame. Bike frame and back tire were taken, front tire was left with lock.

This bike was in the gangway to a friend's garden apartment: there are only two units there, and gates at either side of the building are locked 24/7. They did not steal my friend's bike, which he stores there safely every day.

Our son's bike, along with three others, were parked/stored in our building's locked front lobby regularly for the past few months due to drain backup problems in the basement bike room. Sometime between 1:30am and 9:30am on Saturday, thieves somehow got through/around the locked front gate of our building. They proceeded to play the wood frame away from the panes of glass next to the locked front door of our building. This allowed a pane to slip down, and they reached through the open pane to gain access through the front door. One of the four bikes had a U-lock attached just to its back tire; that bike was spared. Our son's bike was his 6th birthday gift and was taken along with 2 adult bikes.

Stupid me. Just bought a new house, and I left my bike unlocked in my backyard while I took my young daughter into the house to get settled. Came back out and the bike was gone (along with my kryptonite mini ulock unlocked in the front wire basket). My fault for not locking it, but bike thieves still suck.

Bike was locked to a pay meter side near the patio seating at Rise sushi restaurant. Checked on my bike at 10 pm after dinner and again at 12:00 am and it was still locked up. Came back at approximately 2:00 am to find that my bike and lock were stolen.

I locked my bike to a bike rack outside the Lincoln Park Zoo along with my wifes bike and our bike trailer. We toured the zoo and when we returned, the cable had been cut and my bike was gone. Everything else was untouched.

Locked the bike through both wheels and frame to a tree. Left the bike for about four hours. When I came back, the bike was gone.

The bike is missing from the storage room inside of our condo building.

It was in the backyard of a friends house where a BBQ was taking place. There were about 15 people and everyone had their bike up against the was inside the fences. It was not locked because i felt safe in an enclosed area, but i was wrong!

I locked up the bike in an alley at the corner of Division and Hoyne. The alley was directly behind Letezia's Natural Cafe when it was taken.

The incident must of occurred sometime between 8am-5pm on September 5th. We have two locked gates on our property and they must have gotten in somehow and stolen it off the back patio area. It has been there safely for 2 years but my luck must have run out. I'm assuming the garbage pickers wandered in looking for anything to steal made of solid metal. This bike was not worth much in money but a lot in sentimental value to me. I loved it!

So me and My friends where playing basketball at Gross Park that is the place where my bike got stolen. So when me and my friends were doing playing my bike was just gone it was no were in sight. But what I heard this person goes to Mather High School and he hangs around Gross park to

Bike was parked outside of a gym, next to a variety of other bikes. Person must have cut the cable out and taken the bike along. There were plenty of other bikes parked at the spot wher mine was at.

I was biking to school and my front wheel flew off. I was knocked unconscious and taken to the hospital. Once I regained consciousness I was told my bike was locked up. Upon arriving to North Avenue Beach 3 hours later I was informed by some local security who were there when I fell that my bike was taken by some lady Daisy who works for the Park District Security who said she'd keep my bike safe till I came back. The number she provided was bogus and after calling 10 different departments nobody knows a lady Daisy. I filed a police report, but I'm trying to not give up hope. [On 2/10/24, the victim contacted us to report that the bike had been returned. "I recovered the bike about 2-3 months after the incident. It ended up actually being taken by a city worker and I managed to track her down, she thought I was dead after not hearing from me for months lol. Turns out the number that was left in my wallet was correct, but the line was down when I had first attempted contact. Once I finally reached her, we met up near the LP zoo and I got the bike back! It was locked up in a park district storage facility near there.  Keep up the good fight of helping folks track and recover!"]

I locked my bike for the night in front of 2301 N Commonwealth (near clark and belden) to a street sign with three signs at the top. Unable to take the sign out of the ground, the thieves clearly unscrewed the signs at the top (which were gone in the morning) and lifted the bike, lock and all, over the top of the remaining pole.

I was coming in and out of the garage as I was doing some carpentry work in the house while cutting wood in the garage. the door to the alley was always closed. I had unlocked the bike to move it out of the way, but did not re-lock it. walked in to the house, left the garage door to the yard unlocked, returned 5 minutes later to find the garage door to the alley open with the bike gone. still beating myself up.
