Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

My bike was locked to a bike rack in the covered off-street parking off Armitage at the Clybourn Metra station. It was locked with newer U-lock through the front wheel and frame, with a cable run through the back wheel. I parked it there Sunday late morning and was not able to return to it until very late Wednesday night. The bike and the lock were gone. The whole bike parking area only had a couple of bikes, unusual for that location. The rest of the bike parking, about 15 racks along Armitage were completely empty. It looked like the whole area had been cleaned out.

I locked my bicycle with U-Lock. Front Suspension and Bike Rack was locked with the lock. I saw my cycle lastly on Monday evening and today morning around 11:45, when I went to take my cycle, I realized that it was stolen. I use to take off cycle's seat, and so the thief also stole a seat from a cycle besides me. Hell with these thieves.

I chained my bicycle to the fence-area of the CTA entrance on the 33rd side of the Sox/35th Red Line platform. I returned to find the bike & the lock missing at approximately 8:45pm. A friend of mine works for the CTA, & he immediately called to see if there had been a bike cut from that location (he was on the same train as I was), & he was told there had not been a call to remove a bicycle from Sox/35 that evening. I have chained my bicycle in that exact space multiple times over the last two years without incident. There are multiple cameras at the 33rd side of the platform, & one very large CTA camera right above where my bicycle was locked.

My white, giant, cypress ST in extra small, along with my 5 year olds, blue, burley tandem attachment was stolen from the bike rack at the Lakeshore East Park.

Neighbor's garage door was left open, which allows access to my garage space where bike was unlocked. Thief entered and took bike.

Apparently they cut through the lock and stole my bike.

Somebody stole my bike from the locked the bike room. Please, if you see it riding around or on craigslist, let me know! Thanks!

Returned from a weekend away to find garage open, only thing missing was the bike. The other bike was still there. They left the helmet, but took the new u-lock with the bike.

Locked bike inside CTA station at 18th St. Pink Line stop (inside/beyond turnstyle) at bike rack which is semi-visible to CTA attendant/security guard. Locked through both wheels with medium-thick cable about 8am. Rode train to work. Returned about 5pm after work and it was gone. Did not file Police Report yet.

Bike was in the basement with others. When I entered the basement to take my bike and ride to work it was gone. No forced entry, no other bikes were taken.

Two bikes were stolen from my locked, fenced in back yard. I believe the thief scaled my fence and either lifted or had help lifting the bikes over the fence.

Both of my bikes were in the fenced-in, locked area behind my house. I came out to ride to work this morning and discovered that they had been taken. I believe they were lifted over the fence on the side. I found both helmets and one of the locks along the gangway.

Bike was locked up behind apartment, owner was away for a 48 hours and returned to discover the cut lock and the bike missing (discovered 11 PM, 9-3-2012). No police report filed yet.

The bike was locked near the back door, and somebody came and cut the lock on it. The only reason I notice my bike was stollen because the lock was in the dumpster.

Ogilvie has a bike rack area at the south east corner of Washington and Clinton. There were about 10 bikes locked up in this area, and so I felt safe locking mine up there overnight. I left it there Sunday afternoon and it was not there Monday mid day when I returned.

Someone broke into my mother in laws garage and they stoled my bike from there.

My bike looks likes the pic but older and more beat up. I locked my bike up to the pole of a chain link fence with a kyrptonite u-lock through the pole, frame and front tire. I left it overnight. When I returned no part of the bicycle or lock remained. The fence appeared uncut.

My bike was locked along with my boyfriend's bike to a rack outside of Crown Hall at IIt on Saturday between 1 and 4. When we returned the bike lock was cut and my bike was missing. (his was still there) The bike lock was a generic cable lock (learned my lesson about locks this weekend). I posted about this bike on everyblock chicago and two people from the bronzeville neighborhood said they saw an african american male riding a bike that fit the description. He had "puffy" hair and was wearing a white tshirt and jeans. They saw him riding it on Saturday night. I filed a report with campus security but was not able to file a police report because I could not get through to an officer. If anyone has any info please let me know. I live in MI and was visiting for the weekend, it was not a good introduction to the city. :(

Bike was U-locked through front wheel to frame and a cable to rear tire. Went into North Coast fest and 3pm. Came back to where my bike was locked around 9pm to find it missing.

I came home friday night and noticed that my bike that was locked to a fence in my yard was gone! They cut the fence to get it. It was a sad, sad day.
