Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Item left locked up at 7:00am 6.25.08 in front of Paulina Center at Rush University Medical Center. After work 5:45 pm bike was gone along with lock. Filed a police report, but am waiting to get report #. Unfortunately, there is a high amount of homeless individuals who hang around the hospital, I feel that it was most likely someone of that status.

The bike was stolen from an alley while it was attached to a railing. The thief took part of the building with them. The U-lock was locked on the back wheel and the frame to the building. I realized the bike was gone in the afternoon but saw it there at 7am Sunday June 22nd.

Bike was locked to a light post with an Onguard Doberman cable lock. Lock was most likely cut.

Garage door left open in multi-unit building. Bike had ulock locked to top tube.

I had only had the bike for 2 days-they came with the right tool to cut off a master lock so they knew what they were doing

Bike was locked infront of a dormitory along with many other bikes. Only this bike was stolen.

Left this downstairs from my apartment, have done many times, this time bicycle is gone, U-Lock and all! Brand new and will give 70$ reward for its return.

My guess is that some piece of sh*t stole my bike by either cutting my cable lock or using a magical key to open and remove my lock. In any case, my beautiful bike, lock, helmet and faith in humanity are missing. Hopefully karma will be swift for this a**hole.

Both my Fiance's bike and my Gary Fisher were stolen out of a secured garage in my condo building. Both were secured through the frame and front wheel to a wall bike rack.

The garage faces the alley. I was unloading stuff from the car and left the garage door open for 30 minutes. I closed the garage from the house by remote. The bicycle was stored in front of the parked car. I discovered it was missing the next day and filed a police report. Earlier in the day a group of young men not from the neighborhood was walking through the alley.

Bike locked at around 9am down-town to a metal fence due to the bike-racks being full of other bikes. Came outside for lunch around 2pm to find the bike missing. Many other bikes were still locked to the fence and other bike-racks. Due to the high traffic of the area and the fact that as far as I know few if no other bikes were stolen I suspect that the thieves use "hit and run" tactics stealing bikes with bolt cutters and a truck. Bike may be found at used bike dealers.

Bike was in the hall of a secure condo building.

One night the bike was there, the next morning it was gone. 3 other bikes on the same street were stolen at the exact same time. (All of the locks were left in tact at the scene.)

Bike was locked on a bike rack in front of the entrance of Navy Pier along with a very distinguishable green mountain bike -- Diamondback Response.

Bike was locked to a metal fence in front of apt complex. There were 3 slits cut into the U lock, but it was still locked up when I arrived. Im not sure how this enable them to get the bike, but friends have had bikes stolen from this area, so it must be a professional.

Locked my bike outside my apartment building at around 6pm. Walked outside at 8am and bike was missing.

I left the bike locked outside Northwestern Memorial Hospital, on the NE corner of St. Clair and Erie at 7:15 this morning. When I got off work, I came out to find it missing, at roughly 8:30 tonight.

Cable was cut and both the lock and bike were missing
