My bike was stolen between 4:30am saturday and 7pm sunday. It just disappeared, but my roommate saw two ‘teenage’ boys leave from beneath the porch with a bike. That was where my bike was, shortly after I rode it home around 9:30pm Saturday. I have not seen it since then.

I received an email from my landlord today (i.e. Wednesday, October 9th 2024) that some bikes were stolen from the bike room. I checked the bike room at around 12:10 p.m. and it was not there. The bike lock was left at the scene, locked. This suggests that someone was able to pick the lock.

My bike was still in the (unlocked) gated area in front of my apartment when I last came back around 4 pm on Saturday October 5th. When I went out in the morning of October 6th, the bike was no longer in front of the building. It had been locked to the fence with a cable combination lock. I had not used the bike in at least 4 days. I assume that someone came during the night after scouting the building and seeing the bike there, and with a cable cutter snapped the cable and stole the bike.
