Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Was readying to put bike on top of car to go to bike race. Took bike out of garage and leaned it up against garbage cans. Ran into house for literally 10-30 seconds. Came back and bike was gone. Someone clearly walked by or cased the scene, jumped on and was off.

I left my garage door open. My bike was up on a rack. A pump was also stolen, but the helmet was left behind.

I locked the bike in front of the civic center at 9:15am. When I went out at 11:15, the bike and the lock were gone.

I locked the bike to a wooden frame in the back yard of my apartment around 12:35 AM. The wooden frame was removed using a driller. Once they removed the cycle they re screwed the wooden frame with new screws as well.

I teach a 45 minute fitness class at the 111 N. Canal St. location and have never questioned the safety of my bike. There are men valeting cars steps from where the bike rack is, whom know me, and there are always several bikes on the rack. It would be safe to guess that whoever stole my bike was watching and waiting for the valet men to step away briefly.

I did some yard work and moved my bikes Saturday afternoon to rake up some leaves. I forgot to lock them both back up and just put the u-Locks in the milk crates attacheed to the back when I leaned them back up to the inside of our fence where we normally keep them. I didn't notice that they were not locked so we just left them there. I saw them still there Sunday evening. On Monday morning when we were about to leave for work my bike was missing the others bike was still there but not locked. I assume since my bike was closest to the gate some saw it walking by in the middle of the night and took the opportunity.

Bike stolen from 3-unit, 3-car garage. Neighbor left back door unlocked, allowing entry into garage and unlocked bike. The bike stealer had to jump a fence to get to the area that had door unlocked.

Was shopping, and come back found the bike was stolen. I actually have two locks, for front wheel and rear wheel.

I was cleaning my garage and left the space for 1 minute to fill my water bucket. Came back to find my bike gone and a Schwinn mountain bike left behind.

Bike was noticed missing after several move outs from the building. Bike storage is in common area of secure building near elevator. Another bicycle was stolen from 4th floor around same time.

This bike was in a (presumably) very secured locked storage area in the rear of the building. It is only accessible by people in the building, and there was no sign of break in the back door. It is fishy to say the least. Was last seen within the last couple days, Monday Oct 24th I believe was the last I checked on it.

I bike to work (Roosevelt University) several days a week and always park my bike on the bike racks right out in front of the building on 430 S Michigan Avenue. I lock my bike through both wheels and the frame with a cable combination lock. I have been doing this for a little over a year and have never had or imagined I would have an issue with having it parked there during the daytime and on such a busy public street. I park my bike there from about 9 am to 5 pm and I always check on it during my lunch break (around 1 pm). My bike was still there at 1 pm the day it was stolen, so it had to taken between 1 and 5 pm. The bike and lock were both missing when I came out to get it around 5 pm.
