Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

We are a three-apartment condo. Our condo's garage was forcibly broken into. The burglar smashed the digital deadbolt of the door and stole the electrical bike. The bike was not in use for two months and stored in the garage due to the cold weather.

Garage had been closed and was opened. Bike was on a rack on the wall, and was stolen out of the garage. Two other bikes were locked to the wall, and were not stolen.

Bike thief has stolen 2 bikes from our Condo building on Tuesday at 4:31pm, then came back yesterday at 11:17am for another one. The thief forced open the gate of our Parking Garage and cut the bike locks.

Bike one second floor of building, in enclosed porch area. Taken along with other bikes from basement. Odd part is that this bike was not immediately visible to anyone who just had the opportunity to sneak in. ***On July 4 2021, the victim wrote to CSBR: This one has made its way back to me. Unsure if it's of interest, but it was bought by someone looking to resell up in Gurnee. Said he got it from the flea market down on Ashland.***

I kept two bikes locked up in my storage unit at Ravenswood Terrace. 3 months ago I noticed wheels on one bike was stolen and just today I noticed an entire bike, frame, and lock were stolen. The bikes were locked to each other through the front wheel. Only residents are able to access the storage unit as you need a code.

Went to check on my bike in my apartment's bike storage area. My lock had been cut with bolt cutters and left, and the bike was gone. This is a very large bike - 23" frame and 29" wheels - and it sticks out like a sore thumb in the city.

Someone in the building left the garage door open. The thief came in and stole the bike off the rack.

Some guy in my building asked me whose bike that was, and it was mine. Almost like he knew, told me abo it a camera that didn’t work. Gone 2 days later after he asked. One of a kind Fizik Seat that says “TEST”

I came down to do laundry and discovered that both mine and my wife's bikes had been stolen together from the bike rack in our condo storage area.

I went to do laundry and found that both mine and my husband's bikes were stolen from our condo building's storage room. The building manager says they were not removed by him or any maintenance teams.

Bike locked in building storage facility where it gets locked every night, gone next day. Photo not of exact bike - seat and wheels are different.

Bike was chained to bike rack in apartment building closed private parking garage. Lock was heavy duty brand new kryptonite evolution series 4 steel chain. The bike and lock are both gone.

Via building camera, an African American male approximately 5'8" to 5'10" wearing a hooded sweatshirt, jeans, and backpack entered side garage door by prying open the door with some sort of tool. Once in the garage, the individual took time to cut through the Kryptonite U-Lock and then walked the bike out of the garage where he then rode away on it from there. Individual left door propped and stole at least 3 bikes in same fashion over an approximately 45 minute time span.

Could have been stolen anytime in the last month or so because I don't ride much in winter. Noticed missing on 1/3/21. Was locked with a combination of Kryptonite KryptoLok Series 2 STD U-Lock with 4' Flex Cable and Bracket: 4 x 9". The cable was left behind but the U-lock was gone with the bike.

Thieves broke into locked 6-car condo garage sometime Sunday night or early Monday; cut the cable on the trike lock, lifted trike over cars and carried it out the overhead garage door to the alley. They had climbed over a 6-ft fence to get access to the side (people) door of the garage; forced that open. Manually released the overhead (car) garage door to remove the trike. Ignored other bikes in the garage or any other perceived valuables except they did take a motorcycle lift. They also got into the storage rooms in the basement and picked a lock to steal someone's work tools. (Photo is same model & color trike but without all the accessories that mine had.)

Bike was stolen from a secure indoor condominium multi-car garage at ground level. Bike was locked with a Kryptonite lock to a pipe in my parking spot.

Thieves gained access to our building over the holidays. Bicycle was stolen from our locked basement along with another one of our bicycles. Cannondale bicycle is the model pictured except Blue in color. Thanks for your help.
