Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

I walked out of my apartment at 417 West Roscoe, and the bike lock was laying on the ground cut through cleanly. There was another mountain bike, silver, laying on the ground, brake cable cut in the back. Seems like the person cut my lock, dropped their bike, grabbed mine and rode away.

Bike was locked up around 7:20 am in front of a business building. Got a call at 8:15am from the front desk security of the building letting me know that my bike was gone. The front desk security had stepped away from their desk to open a back door, and when he came back noticed it was gone and called me because he sees me riding in everyday. The first floor of the building is all open windows, and I always lock it where it is visible for the front desk to see.

My garage was broken into and tools and the bike were stolen.

Locked my bike up in front of my work on Randolph street in the west loop from about 1pm until 12am, bike was gone when I left work.

My bike was only locked through the front tire onto a bike rack. The frame was disconnected from the front tire.

Bike was in front of office all day, but was last seen at 8:20pm and then was gone when I came out at 11:00pm. Must have been stolen during then with either a saw or something.

Locked Storage Unit with many bikes. Went to open door to locked storage unit and it was open. Bikes missing.

locked bike up around 11pm on the 30th to the bike rack outside of my building, when i went outside at around 2pm today (july 1st) both the bike and the lock were missing.

I was helping a friend move into a new apartment. We were going in and out bringing things up to 3rd floor. We were never out of eye sight of the bike (in addition to tons of other things including an open UHaul) for very long. I feel as though someone may have been watching for an opportunity to snag it when we went upstairs. My helmet, which was in a rear pannier (grocery getter), was left laying on the ground.

Locked to bike storage area at the Jefferson Park Blue Line Station from 4:00 to 8:00.

I lock my bike underneath our front stairs practically every night unless the weather is foul. The bike is pretty much invisible from the street, unless you walk up 19th place (which has very little foot traffic). The U-Lock is attached to a secondary cable lock which is wrapped around a 4"x4" post on the front stairs. The lock on the cable was cut and slipped through the u-lock. So the bike is free but the lock still attached.

I returned home from work and placed my bike in the bike storage room of my building, as usual. I am unable to lock my bike to the rack due to the size/shape of my frame and the number of bikes locked to the storage rack. Only tenants and landlord have access to this storage/laundry room, but it is possible that somebody may have broken in through a window. I returned to the storage room at 9:30 to find my bike missing. My helmet and u-lock, which had been hung on the handlebar, were set on a sofa near where I keep my bike.

Bike was left in front of Harold Washington bike racks and was taken using bolt cutters around 2 pm.
