Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

The bike was locked to my second story back deck to a wooden support by a U-lock and additional cable threaded through the wheels. The beam it was attached to was hammered apart and bike was carried away. I feel like someone in my building may have tipped someone off to the location of the bike, as the deck is secured by a locked gate and is one floor up in plain sight of other people.

Bike lock cut in the middle of the night.

Thief must have climbed into gated back alleyway at night to steal the bike.

The bike was locked to a pump. The person disassembled the pipe (water all over the floor) and slid the bike lock off the pipe. Both the lock and bike is gone.

Moving furniture into house through rear garage. Door was left open and unattended for approximately 20 mins. When I returned the bike was gone.

My bike was stored in my locked garage. I cam home from work and saw my garage door about 1/4 open (unclear whether it was pried open or whether it dodn't close all the way when i left for work in the morning). The bike was the only item that was stolen.

The bike frame was locked to a metal post and the wheels were attached To the frame with security skewers. The shifting cable was cut and both wheels were stolen. The lock doesnt fit through my frame, the back wheel, and the post otherwise I would have locked it that way. I went out for a run around 1pm today and I might not have noticed my bike wheels were missing but I think they may have been stolen while I was running. Or earlier the night before.

I rode my 2011 locked the rear wheel and frame to a bicycle rack on the east side of the Performing Arts building of UIC, near the intersection of Harrison and Morgan St. I went inside the building from 5:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m. on Tuesday May 6, 2014. When I came back to retrieve it, someone had taken both the front fork and front wheel. In order to do this, the person must have had both a wheel wrench and an allen wrench. The front fork is a Trek T1 original carbon fiber fork, black with a small light blue design on both sides. The wheel was an original black Bontrager wheel with black spokes. The tire on the wheel was a Fixation Session 23c.

Purchased bike day before, had not set up lock. Was on porch, behind a locked gate. Disappeared between 8:30 when I left for work, and 12:30ish when my roommate came home and noticed both our bikes were stolen.

In Ace Hardware for 5 mins. Poof..... gone.

The thieves took only the handlebar clamp and my handlebars and front basket. Although the handlebars and clamp are annoying, I am mostly missing my basket. It is a black PDW takeout basket with a handsome wood detail on the front

Bike was stolen from 3rd floor back deck sometime between 2am and 9am Sunday. Front and back gate were locked. Bike would not have been visible from back alley, so the thief probably came looking for whatever could be stolen and didn't target the biked specifically. Another unlocked bike was not taken.

It was locked up on the morning of May 5th and was stolen sometime between around 9 am and the next day. Most likely overnight or early morning.

Had my birthday party at the bar next door, and the next day, after I was all suited and ready to head off to work, I notice that my bike was no longer locked to the fence on our front porch.

Bike was locked outside of my apartment to the front gate around 1:00pm on Saturday, May 3rd. I was in and out of the apartment running errands all day until returning to my apartment at 2:00am on Sunday, May 4th, the bike was still there locked to the gate. When leaving my apartment at 9:30am on Sunday, the gate was cut and the bike was gone. So the range of possible times of theft is from 2:00am-9:30am on Sunday, May 4th.

My son's bicycle was in front of our apartment on the 2nd floor with a common balcony. two suspects were seen about 14-15 years in age , very possible local, from the same area - one white wearing a light tone hooded shirt / jacket and another one dark skinned Hispanic who ran fast into the alley south of Grand Ave (Grand Ave and Julian - across the River Grove library)

Door to garage must not have been pulled completely to locked position. Door was wide open in morning and bike was gone.

Locked my bike at six outside of The Theatre School at DePaul, walked back to my dorm around 10 PM without it, and around 1:30 when I went to go retrieve it, it was gone like it was never there.
