This was not a complete bike. Only my front wheel and handlebars were stolen. Front wheel is a silver ritchey hub (r logo on hub) laced to a silver bead blasted specialized rim (no stickers or markings on the rim) with silver spokes and a brand new Continental Gatorskin 700 by 23c tire. The front wheel also has a black quick release skewer that has a larger than normal lever. I unfortunately can't remember the brand, but it is very distinguishing. The handlebars were silver Cinelli old road handlebars that were cut to bullhorns. They are very short horns. They had pink bar tape but I doubt that is still in tact. I noticed that a lot of other bikes had been ripped off so somebody was there for a while doing this.

Incident Description: 
Thief stole many parts from multiple bicycles at the Clybourn Metra station. There is a bike rack just south of Armitage and west of Ashland where lots of bicycles are locked up. The thief didn't cut any locks, just used some tools to steal what was unlocked. I left the bicycle at 6:00 am and returned at 5:00 pm so I cannot verify a time, but so many parts were missing that the thief had to be there for more than a couple minutes.

Bike is an old Fuji bike I've had forever. I think it is steal with an aluminum fork. Dad bought the bike new in '89 and I use it as a commuter. The bike has been sanded and spray painted a few different colors and there are spots where paint is rubbing off and you can see the last paint job was red. Currently the bike is bright orange with white joints and white sticker pin stripes which are peeling in a place or two. Bars have black bar tape.

The bike is stored in my basement of a building I own. Only 3 other people have access to the basement. I believe it was an inside job but have no way to prove it. The doors to the basement are always locked and the doors were not tampered with. The tires were flat so it couldn't have been ridden. They also require a special piece to be used to full the tires. U can't just go to the gas station and fill them unless u have the piece.

The bicycle was locked to a bike rack located inside of an enclosed and locked parking area behind an apartment complex. It was discovered missing after having been locked up 21 hours prior. It had been secured with a heavy-duty bike cable with 5 digit combination lock by Bell through the front tire and frame to a bike rack where other bikes were locked with u-locks and were left unharmed. The rear tire, seat and frame were locked by a thin 4 digit combination lock. The bike, helmet, two locks, lights and bag were all taken. The rack appears to be intact and other bikes locked beside were unharmed.

Bike was locked to outdoor office building bicycle racks. Office building is directly above Amtrak Union Station, and building bike racks are between Adams Union Station entrance and front of the office building. Racks are located away from both Adams sidewalk and Riverside Plaza foot traffic. Racks cannot be seen from sidewalks. I suspect an individual or group may semi-regularly target the area because after speaking with building management about the missing bike, they informed me that on occasion they have caught people at the bicycle racks with power tools.

One year old, so fairly new. There are Bontrager handlebar hand grips, a Bontrager BackRack,and an aluminum kickstand. When I left it, there was also a milk crate attached with 3 colored bungee cords on the BackRack. There was also a front light mount on the handlebars, a back light mount on the milk crate and a hand pump mount facing left underneath the water bottle holder. The bike has dropped on its side a couple of times, so the Bontrager sign on the right handlebar is a little scuffed. Also, when the bike is in 14th gear (2 large, 7 small), the chain rubs the chain guide making a distinctive sound, but only in that gear.
