Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike was located on the corner of Rush and Huron locked to a bike rack in front of the Omni Hotel. Security cameras indicate that the male rode up on a bike, left his bike and rode off with mine. My lock was still there and unharmed, not sure if the lock was put on properly or else it should not have been so easy to take. Confirmed the bike was there at 3:40pm cameras show the male stealing the bike at 4:10 pm and I left work at 4:30 to find it missing. The bike is an off white K2 mountain bike with a black design with a cloth basket on the front. Am still looking for paperwork to find a serial number, bike was purchased from Sports Authority 2 years ago. Bike is in perfect shape.

I think that someone had been scoping my bike put for a few days because i go to the summer camp and we meet at the Starbucks.

The bike was in a locked entryway and was most likely stolen because workers where going in and out of the apartment.

Bike was stolen from a locked back yard area secure to a metal fence. An African American Male approximate age 40-50 with greying hair, average height(5-7) and build wearing a grey tank top and dark shorts hopped over the locked fence presumable cut the lock and grabbed the bike. The bike was in the yard for 5 min prior to being stolen. We saw him ride down the alley, however because the gate was locked he had enough time to get away while we tried to unlock the gate. We saw him proceed down Wood St. towards Chicago Ave. where we lost sight of him.

Bike was last seen on Friday July 12 at 5:00pm, found missing on Monday July 15

The thief got in to the building, went to the second floor where my office is and took my bike

The garage was left open for 5 minutes and someone walked into the garage and took the bicycle.

Bike was inside of a locked area. Someone opened a side gate, moved a dumpster (or perhaps dumpster was never put back after garbage pick up) and wheeled the bike out the back. Lock was hanging from bike, not attached to it. Helmet attached and stolen as well.

Bike was in the same basement storage area that it had been kept in for three years without incident. Neighbor had a party Saturday night, bike went missing between Saturday night and Monday afternoon.

Bike was locked to fence near parking for my apartment building. The post it was attached to was thick, but the cross bar at the top was not. The top crossbar was cut, and the bike was lifted away and stolen.

Bike was stolen from bike rack in front of Whirlaway Lounge (3224 W. Fullerton). Cable lock was cut & left near bike rack.

Stolen Velocity B43 with black wheel and white tire (front) right outside westfest in Ukranian Village. A lot of other people's stuff got stolen too.

Bike was stolen from locked garage. Overhead garage door was left open.

Someone cut the lock between 1 am and 7 am in front of my friends apartment.

Bike was parked next to White Speciallized Allez Sport, which was also stolen. Stolen in the middle of the night.

Was parked next to a small black Bianchi with a black milk crate on back. Both bikes stolen by being cut.

Locked up (newer u-lock w/flat key) on Fullerton at the n/e corner of Sawyer. There were people down the street in front of Whirlaway. The sign post I was locked to was unbolted from base and slid up past my lock to get the bike.

Bike was locked up at 11 AM on Sunday, on Monday morning it was missing.

Incident occurred after "Tour de Fat" bike and music festival sponsored by Fat Tire Brewing at Palmer Square Park in Logan Square. At the rear of the event, completely within the square, near Albany Avenue, there were fence-like barricades approximately 4' tall and 12' wide to which bikes were locked. I locked my bike to one of these barricades. I left my bike there at approximately 5pm to visit friends in the area. I returned to the park at around midnight and the barricades were gone, as well as my bike. Since it had been dark when I returned to get my bike that night, I returned to the park again the next day to confirm that the bike and barricades were indeed removed. It is possible that, at some point while I was away, my bike may have been impounded or stored at another location by the authorities while the barricade to which it had been locked was removed from the site. Since the U-lock is also missing, I do not know for sure whether or not the U-lock was cut to separate the bike from the barricade, although I suspect the lock probably was cut.
